I think I know the answer for this... but do you need to be a resort guest to rent golf carts, bikes, golf carts? Thought this might be a fun family thing to do but we cannot afford to stay on property this time around.

Thanks!

You do not have to be a resort guest to enjoy most of those activities.:thumbsup2 Not sure about the golf carts. Ft. Wilderness is the only place I have heard of people renting them. And they are rented to help resort guests get around the resort because it's so big. If you wanted to just tour Ft. Wilderness, I would think bikes would be the way to go.

I have never stayed offsite & tried to rent anything at a Disney resort. I wouldn't think you had to be staying on property to rent things like a surrey bike at the BW. Then again, every time we rent anything they ask for our room card. :scratchin

No, you definitely do not have to be a resort guest to rent the surrey bikes, sea racers, or pontoon boats.

Thanks for the info!
Out of curiosity, do they ask for ID or hold your license?

That's helpful. Heard on a podcast that at Fort Wilderness you can rent a golf cart. May be kind of fun just to rent one in Jan to drive around and see everyone's holiday decorations. But I also read you can reserve up to a year so not even certain we would find one at this time. Who knows.

But I do remember when we rented DVC points one time, I thought they did ask us for our room key. Mind you, this was in 2005!

Thought it would be nice to just rent bikes, boats etc just to do something other than the parks when it's super crazy the week of New Years. We are going 1/2-1/11.

If anyone can think of any other fun things to do, please share.
