Port Orleans French Quarter is a great location and a younger crowd.
I agree with the French Quarter. The pool is good, but the slide is more for Kiddies. The food court imo is great for a resort food court. Mostly because of the Beneits that you can get there.
Also you have access to:
1. The boat ride to DTD DTD great place to hang out for you age range you should visit several times during your stay mostly the evenings.
2. You have access to the Riverside resort which is only a short boat ride away or even a very short walk. The pool there is much better for your age group. And they have hot tub, but there is probably one at FQ too, i dont remember. Most resorts have them
3. You have access to other water sports and stuff Carraige rides at the riverside for romantic, Bike rides. Alot of walkways between the 2 resorts and all the way to DTD I think can be managed by pathway.
4. Riverside food court also very very good.
5. Maybe riverside is much better actually...lol but more kids there actually.
Either way I would find one of the resorts along the river there so you can visit DTD pretty much effortlessly. If you are staying at, lets say, Coronado, Just to get to DTD is only a bus ride, but kind of a pain. I have found that the busses for DTD, and this goes for ANY resort, are generally slower and take much longer to get you there and home. Being the age you are I feel DTD is your best chance for decent entertainment. FQ is your best bet by any means and it is really small and has a nice layout.
