I have a 6 yr old son and I was wondering which resort would HE have the most fun at? We currently have ressies at HIFS but we're very seriously thinking of moving onsite. I hear that HIFS has a lot of "cool stuff" for kids, so I'd like to hear which Disney resort has "cool stuff" too. Any help would be great. Thanks.

The WDW resorts all have wonderful but varied "theming"...so it really depends on what you and your child would find "neat".........
the particular decor, the resort pool, the staying "in" Disney itself. your budget....lots of factors!!

On our first visit in 1993, my then 6 yr old DD got the biggest kick out of the "Mickey pancakes" at the food court at Dixie Landings...and chopping the head off the mickey-shaped butter for her dinner roll the first night's dinner at the restaurant in the Land in Epcot :)

The first time I took my son (age 9), he LOVED All-Star Movies. The theming really is pure Disney. Now, my son and I both like AKL because of the animals.

I say definitely All Star Movies. It is my favorite value resort. He will enjoy it. It is so Disney to me.

... but I bet he'd love Wilderness Lodge! I've taken my 2 ds's there and they love the rustic wilderness atmosphere of the place -- and it's so convenient to the Magic Kingdom, too! I would definitely consider that for a 6-year-old boy.

Have a great trip,
Sarah

My 6 yo DD doesn't care which resort, as long as it's a disney resort. There's just so much magic surrounding them! Of course she loves the pools as well!

As you can see from my signature, we've stayed at a couple of different resorts, and right now we're trying to decide on either the Beach club or PO French Quarter...

HI,
I have been to Disney several times and would highly recommend staying on site with a 6 yr old. Several years ago I stayed off site with my 2 DSs and it was OK because we traveled in January and the crowds were thin.
If you are like I am you are probably staying off site due to the cost of most on site resorts. April 2002, we stayed at ASMU and my sons, 12 and 15 had a great time. A 6 year old would love any of the AStars resorts.
In years past I have also stayed at PO Riverside, YC, and CR but can not afford those resorts or I should say I am not willing to spend the money for those resorts now. I would much rather use that money to eat at some of the restaraunts, shop, etc.
The food court was great for kids. Lots of kid friendly food. Very similar to a food court found at a shopping mall.
We are staying at the ASMO resort this year! 47 days to go!!
Have a great time!!
