Hi!

We are scheduled to arrive in WDW on July 3rd (we don't want to fly on the 4th). Here is my dilema... we are staying at the Polynesian Concierge on the 4th and 5th with checkout and transfer to POR on the 6th. Since we arrive on the 3rd (which is regular season all around)...

1.) Should we pay the extra money and stay at the POLY so we don't have to switch?

2.) Save some money and stay at POR one night, then switch to POLY, then switch back.

Can anyone tell me the approximate difference between regular rate and value rate (we have APs)... I am looking for a figure like $50 difference or so.

What would you do?

BTW... We usually take total advantage of the concierge service for food (using it for breakfast, snacks, dinner, desserts, drinks) so we would need to add that expense to POR for that one day and night also. CWIM?

Thanks!
Karen

go to mousesavers.com for the price difference

and be careful about using the concierge services for bfast snacks and dinner- you wont be happy if you expect that from the poly -its used as a filler not a meal

good luck

Since you are already making one switch....I would head right to the Poly on the 3rd.
If the 3rd is regular and 4th and on is value...you may have to ask for 2 seperate reservations. The second one starting on the 4th will have the lower value rate which is $50 cheaper at rack rate. Not sure what the difference may be with any discounts.

Just out of curiosity....check out the rates of POR compared to Poly for the remainder of your trip.....checking on discounts as they come up!!!:) The "value" season for moderates doesn't start til late August and the "value" season for deluxes starts in July.
It may work out that you can stay at the Poly for the whole time.
Just a thought!:D

OR......better yet....stay at the POR FIRST! the rates won't change during your trip for that, but will for Poly. You may save a few more $$ doing it that way!!!!:)
Just stay your first 3 days at POR, then last 2 at Poly, still only one switch.

Thanks... although we want to be at the POLY on the 4th (for fireworks) and 5th (we have luau with Fairy Godmothers for kids). I was thinking of staying the whole time at the POLY but I really want to show POR to dh and kids.

I think I will stay at the POLY on the 3rd. I wonder what the reg room rate is for the Polynesian... hmmm...

Karen

If you can't do POR first, I would do the Poly for the whole time if you can. I think it would be somewhat of a let down to go from a deluxe with concierge to a moderate. If your family hasn't stayed at POR before they might be disappointed in it after a taste of the Polynesian.
