Resort "Convenience Factor" Analysis

I'm not sure if this is your data or the third party data you used, but I'm trying to wrap my head around why the time between CSR and MK is lower than between CSR and DAK or DS. MK is a farther drive from CS than either of those, and there are no alternate forms of transportation, so you're taking a bus no matter where you're going.

I THINK the site presupposes some kind of median wait time for buses.

I get that, but given that all transportation would be by bus, the median wait shouldn't really be a factor, right? Unless you mean there's a different median wait specific to each park?
Absolutely, there are way more MK buses running than DAK buses, for example.

That part I know for sure. Whether that's actually the reason for the discrepancy is only speculation on my part.

I found this super helpful, thank you! We did Port Orleans Riverside in Nov. 2021 and had no bus problems, but I'm thinking it was because the resort was around 1/2 capacity. We are now considering Port Orleans French Quarter for our 2023 trip because of this information, as well as the comments in this tread. Thanks again for all the help!

Some of these times looks off to me. For example, you have CR to MK as 7 minutes each way, but the trip from CR to MK is longer. I didn't look closely at the other times, but there were a few others that didn't look right.

AKL rules. Fear not the buses.

Part of the reason I decided to do this was to defend AKL. Everyone always says "AKL takes too long to get anywhere." As a former local who used to drive all over property regularly, I knew that wasn't true and that it was just anti-bus bias. But I wanted to prove it.
That’s interesting, because I swear I hear this EVERYWHERE. The buses at AKL are legendary and mentioned in all sorts of touring places- Disney Food Blog, guidebooks, etc.

We stayed at POFQ the first week in March, 3+ weeks ago.

We were quite surprised when a bus we got on at POFQ then proceeded to make all the POR stops, so I asked the bus driver about it. The driver told me that after 11 a.m., POFQ shares buses with POR.

I don't know if this is always the case or if it was just going on the week we were there. But if it's always the case, then the midday post-resort-pool/nap trip you've factored into your analysis should take this into account.

I can't attest to what happens on the return trip, because POFQ is the first stop and I never bothered to check if there were still people on the bus after I got off.

BTW, I often stay at AKL, and one of the big transportation pluses of staying there is that a bus to DAK comes extremely often and the ride is perhaps 7 or 8 minutes, max. We often go to DAK as our 2nd park--even when it's our first park!

my highly non-scientific impression after a split stay all over (with the biggest chunk at AKL) was that the bus situation from AKL was the worst

super interesting! but i concur with others that riviera can't be more convenient than BCV/BWV when you can roll out of bed from BCV into epcot and walk to either from both.

Now if you compared Rivera to the Grand Californian ... The Rivera would be a 3 and the Grand would be 100.
But, the one time I was at Grand Californian and wanted access to EPCOT, I felt really stuck 🤣
I'm only teasing.

Anyway, the buses are not so bad. Be happy you're staying on property and can use the transportation included with your resort!
A little patience will go a long way toward having a good vacation.

BC also has access to the skyliner but only for Studios. (I usually take it instead of the boat). and maybe to go have a meal at Riviera
