Resort Conundrum

Okay,

We are booked for the WL for June of 2016. We stayed there this past March for the first time and LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT! However, with the renovations starting I'm getting a little nervous paying for a deluxe resort and it being worked on while we stay there. It's not a deal breaker by ANY means, but as I was searching I noticed that the CR is somehow cheaper, not by much, during the same time. We have never stayed there, but the convenience of the monorail is really appealing. It's just a standard room, but still. What are your thoughts on the switch…yay or nay? TIA

I always like a good excuse to try out a new resort. Avoiding construction + saving a little cash = a good excuse to me.

AGREE!

LOVE WL but would not risk it this go round of construction, it's just going to be too much. Not only will the land all around by the lake affected, but the one pool and the south tower of the hotel itself from what I've read. You don't want until close to your trip to know what is going on at the time and then lose the opportunity to stay at another for a good price. I would move this time and return to WL when they are done.

I would go with the Contemporary. You pay a premium to stay at WDW's resorts because of the theming of the resorts. IMO, the construction detracts significantly from the theme

I agree. Construction and the G family fo not mix. I would choose the CR

I would switch resorts and try something new. I think, as pp suggested, Contemporary is a great choice - you have monorail access to so many great restaurants and can WALK to Magic Kingdom - WALK!

I would switch. I don't like staying at resorts under construction...plus the Contemporary is a fun resort!

I'm convinced I should switch, but I will definitely miss the WL. I really LOVE that hotel. Thanks ya'll!
