We love the CR - but may not be able to pay $4810 just for our resort room.

We love the Dolphin - most likely could pay $3500 for just our resort room, but then we can not do DDP.

If we switch to a moderate, for Easter weeks, 13 nights we would pay about $2925.:goodvibes

Our #1 concern- our DD has Celiac, no wheat (gluten) in her food.
Which moderate would have the best food court to accomodate her?

Also, pools - we have 2 teens (will be ages 18 & 15) - which pool would be the best ?
We can not do a value resort- no pool slide availalble.

Room size - we need to be able to fit a twin size aero bed in the room. Moderate rooms are a bit small (sorry we are used to Deluxe rooms) - can an aero bed fit into a moderate rooms without people stepping on top of one another ?

Ambience - Does the resort have nice gardens, walkways, views, perks to that specific resort ?

Or should we go back to the Dolphin - and skip doing DDP ?:confused3

We love CSR. Nice pool, although the slide may be too tame for the teens, but best of the mods. Beautiful grounds and walkways. CSR is Mexican themed, and has soft Mexican music playing around the resort... a little slice of Heaven! :cloud9:

Food court makes food to order, so while you may need to be picky, they can make her something. I would suggest looking at the menus on www.allearsnet.com to compare the menus, and see what she could eat.

Bus service to CSR has always been outstanding when we were there. Hardly ever crowded, and waited 15 minutes at our longest wait. The exception to this, as seems in all cases, is DTD.

I am allergic to wheat and have found that I can usually eat at the food courts in most resorts, but the resort food court staff are very busy and not well-informed about food allergies. So, I usually will get a side of bacon and a bowl of fruit for breakfast. We don't usually eat lunch/dinner at resort, so I can't comment on that.

I also bring non-wheat breakfast foods to munch on when we don't want to deal with the food court.

CBR has slightly larger rooms so you would feel slightly less crowded.

Decor and pools at mod resorts are lovely and subject to your personal tastes.

Keep in mind that the 18-year old would be considered the third adult in the room and there would be an additional charge per night for more than two adults.

Our DS will start our vacation at age 17 and celebrate his 18th birthday at WDW. From what I am told. We start our rate with him at age 17 and it would not change if we stay all 13 nights at the same WDW resort. He will have a drivers license with him to prove his birthdate, if needed.

From Buzz's website, I did find...CSR is slated for room rehabs in 2008. This will not start until October and would take "about a year" to complete all the sections of the resort.

So if CSR rehabs start fall of 2008 - then the rehab would be completed by Jan 2010 (construction delays do happen).
CSR would be newly rehabed for us Easter 2010 :goodvibes

I also found of the CSR website for our Celiac DD - the Pepper Market has:
Turkey Breast
Fruit Cup
Ribeye Steak, Potato, Vegetables
Half Rotisserie Chicken (ask for Potatoe - no fries)
Baked Potato with Toppings

CSR may be a good choice for us.

We liked CBR bit do not know if the pool will be completed when you are vacationing.

Mt DGD is allergic to dairy and eggs and we thought that the food courts would be an issue for her. The Chef at CBR told us that the resort chefs are trained and can accommodate allergies but that the time frame may be longer. They do not use the same utensils or work space and some things need to be made fresh. Breakfast was so easy, they use a gluten free dairy and egg free mix that tasted good, it just took a few extra minutes.

I know that we got a lot of help from the DISabilities forum before we left. Those folks know a great deal about how to handle allergies and will have some great advice for you. For instance, they told DD to note the allergies on the ADR's and that Kady liked tofutti for dessert. That info would be passed on so that restaurants could prepare for her. She got her dessert in every restaurant but Le Cellier. Stop in there for more tips and you will leave feeling much better about the meals.

I think the Pepper Market would be a big plus for you. The food is cooked fresh in front of you and you'd have more control over what is included in what you order.

You can get a rollaway bed at CSR if you need one. Buzz's website has a picture of it set up between the 2 double beds.

Well, I was going to say stick with the Dolphin because, in my opinion, their pool is second only to Stormalong Bay. However, then I noticed your boys' ages and, well, I think you're going to need the dining plan!

I also recommend the Coronado Springs first because of the pool (and the hot tub is great) and the Pepper Market.

Second, I would recommend either of the Port Orleans because you can share the two pools and the walk between the two is very nice. Basically, you'd get two resorts for the price of one.

For the twin mattress, we had one in a value room and it worked fine. We put it in front of the window and had to move the table and chairs a bit but we could open the door if we needed and it was out of the way when going to the bathroom at night.

Just an FYI...I don't think they will let you all stay in one Moderate room. The Mods only sleep 4 (except for some POR rooms). If you want the DDP, all of you will have to be on the reservation and you will either need 2 mod rooms or one deluxe room.

Good luck!

eta: sorry, i thought you meant you have 2 teens PLUS a DD with celiacs. I can't read. I will leave the info up for other's however.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, we are a family of 4 plus a cat.
POFQ was one of our considerations - boat to DTD and first bus stop before POR - but the pool with a dragon slide I do not think is good for teens.

I think CSR will suit our family.
A cot between the beds - great - then our areo bed would fit between the beds too.
Our DS & DD do not sleep together.

Yes - we love the Dolphin - but I think the DDP will be good for our family of 2 adluts and 2 almost adults (18 & 15).

Hi!

Looks like you have made your decision, but wanted to mention that while CSR is lovely, the rooms are 314 sq ft, with a single sink vanity area.

CBR is also slated for refub and the new main pool will be completed by this Fall....those rooms are 340 sq ft and have a double sink vanity area, with lots of counter space. :)

We had 2 teens (a boy & girl) at CBR in 2005 - we requested a rollaway and it fit fine behind the door, next to the bed. Both resorts have a privacy curtain, I think..know CBR does for sure.

Maybe request a corner room - not larger, but a very nice feel, esp with 4 in the room. We loved it...steel drum music playing throughout the resort. It's like a vacation within a vacation.:)

Whichever you choose, have a wonderful stay!! Both are great resorts! :)

2 weeks with 2 teens and all in the same room?

I think you need 2 rooms. Its a family vacation, but kids like a little privacy from mom and dad.

All-star suite? I've read about them on here.
Also, what about Saratoga Springs or Boardwalk?

I believe I've read that POR accomodates 5 with a Trundle or something...If so, undoubtedly, an air bed would fit fine.

I'm just remembering what I've read, and also, as the other diser mentioned, your teens could use the pool at POFQ: I don't know what the pool slide is like there.

Enjoy your trip!!:cool1:

I think this is the best advice - I'd pick the CBR if I were you. The extra square footage and extra sink just make sense for you. And by the way, Holy Cheezum (a kid in my office used to say that) rooms are expensive during easter week. I guess that's why I always plan my trips for the summer. Good luck.
BTW, I don't know anything about dietary restrictions, but from what I've read here on the dis boards, it sound like disney will do its best to accomidate you wherever you are, so I'm thinking anybody who recomends a resort based on their ability to prepare food for your daughter, just may be manufacturing a reason to recomend their favorite resort to you.

Thank you for all the replies.

I think we will stick with CSR if we have to do a moderate.
The pool there looks good for our kids and the CSR food court good for our DD.

The Dolphin will be our next choice, if we decide no DDP.
We will check the DDP options in 2010. They may change for the better or worse. You never know what WDW will do with DDP.

Our dream will be to stay at CR once again.
