Resort comparison?

Can anyone tell me how Old Key West compares to Saratoga Springs? Would you prefer to stay at Boardwalk over Old Key West?

Except for the fact that OKW is the oldest, and SSR is the newest one you can stay at, they were a lot alike, at least in my eyes. There are villas in many separate buildings, neither is attached to another resort.

Depending on the circumstances, I wouldn't mind staying at OKW, but prefer Boardwalk-it's my "home", and I love the convenience of walking to MGM and Epcot. However, the ability to park right outside the building where you are staying has a certain appeal, especially if you get a villa at the BWV that is at the end of the very long hallway!

I personally prefer the Boardwalk, but the last 2 trips were more "spur-of-the-moment" so we stayed at OKW and SSR. Enjoyed both stays.

The room layouts look very different on paper for OKW and SSR. Were the rooms similar in size? Has OKW been renovated?

The square footage in all the rooms/villas at Old Key West is more. We stayed in a studio at SSR, and it was about the same size as a hotel room. I believe OKW has been renovated, but I don't know when. It is a very nice resort, the pool recently renovated to include a themed slide.

You may want to post this on the DVC boards. I've read that there are significant differences between the two; for example, that you can drive right up to your OKW unit, not so with SSR. Also, that SSR is much larger and the distances farther apart. The OKW fans really seem to love the size of the units and the layouts. SSR fans like its proximity to DTD. But that's all second-hand.
