Resort Changing

If you are staying on property (or Swan/Dolphin), bell services will transfer luggage between resorts. You can get on a bus from your current resort and go about your daily plans and then bus back to the resort you transferred to. Or call an Uber, if you'd rather handle your own luggage. We've done both- very easy ☺

Bell services will move your luggage. You drop off your luggage with them and then it is delivered later in the afternoon. Or you could take a taxi/uber to do it yourself.

As others have said, take luggage to bell services of your first hotel. They will move to second hotel while you are out enjoying your day. Then when you get your text for second hotel, you can go there and check in. Your luggage may not be ready then, but usually late afternoon/evening you can call bell services of your second hotel and have them bring it up to the room.

When we were at Riviera last year, we walked past bell services after being dropped off from the bus. I told the girls to go ahead to the room and I waited and asked bell services if they had the luggage transfers in yet. They said no. My grandtinker took a nap and I called around 4 and they had just arrived so bell services ran them up. This is really a great service as it takes the time and worry out of having to do it yourself.

Thank you all for this information as I’ve read that this service had been cancelled. Having had to move many times in the past, this service is one of the most important reason, IMHO, to stay at a Disney resort.

Guess I should call guest services or DVC to be sure. We are using points for the first stay and paying cash for the rest. Thanks for all the information!!

Were you thinking of the airport luggage transfers? Those were cancelled. But resort-to-resort is still providing this service. We did it recently.

Luggage transfer was not cancelled. What was cancelled is transfer of perishables - medication or food that must be kept refrigerated or frozen. You have to transfer those yourself. You could pack them in a suitcase with ice and have BS transfer it, but that would be at your risk.

When did this cancellation begin? We had milk and orange juice transferred from GF to YC in June of this year. Maybe we got lucky.

This, and all the above posts, are the reasons the disboards are awesome. :grouphug:

Dd and I have done many splits this year, we start at YC and walk to HS or bus to AK(opens at 8a) the morning we transfer. We get back by 11 and grab our stuff and uber/taxi to next resort. I do not like Disney transfers, too many times it arrived after 3p as late as 6p. I want my stuff lol.

This would work from MK resorts if you start at MK or AK you can get back in time.

Other resorts where you have to bus back by 11 ? Ugh I do that going home day and it’s stressful. There are not many buses leaving the parks early in the day. Often I wait 20-30 mins, not fun😩

Just a note that you may need to be in the room in order for Bell Services to deliver your luggage. When I transferred to The Wilderness Lodge and called for my luggage, I was told that I need to be in the room when they arrived.

That has been the policy for some time. The only luggage they delivered when the guest was not in the room was DME luggage - and they may have stopped that just before the pandemic, not sure. They need you there to be sure it’s the right room (and to collect their tip too).
