Resort changing

On our upcoming trip, we will be spending our first night at VWL and then the rest of our stay at BLT. I am trying to figure out the best plan for changing resorts and would love some advice. We will be driving our own car.

The day that we check out of VWL and into BLT is our first park day so we would really like to be at Epcot for rope drop (9 am that day). We have lunch and dinner reservations that day so we plan to be in the park all day long and into the evening. Would it work best for us to get up very early and check out of VWL then make our way over to BLT to check in before going to the parks? Would it be better to check out of VWL, head to Epcot and then check into BLT that night? Luggage will not be an issue as we'll only have 2 bags at VWL. We can put those in our car after checkout.

When should we move our car from VWL to BLT?

Also, should I do online check in from home before our trip?

I would check out of VWL early, drive over to BLT to check in, then go on with my day. Why? Well, just in case I needed a room that day, upset tummy, whatever, I think checking in gives me a chance to have a room earlier.

The way most of the resorts assign rooms I'm not sure you're chances of getting in to a room is any better.

I'd check out of VWL, load the car and go check in to BLT. IF your room is ready (not likely) then deposit your things. If not, leave them in the car OR with bell services. Will you only have the 2 bags total or are you simply packing separately for the single night?
