Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

Just got off the phone with Disney.

We changed our resort.

I was never 100% happy with the BC, even though it made sense to stay there because of the F&W Festival which DH had pointed out when we changed from CR.

Anyhow DH and I got to talking yesterday while we were out shopping picking up some new clothing for the trip and we came to the conclusion that we both wanted to head back to one of our favorite resorts, :goodvibes it happens to be DH #1 pick.

We stayed there twice before and loved it, but I had been holding back about staying there since I felt the memories of vacationing there in the past with my DS:littleangel: would be too hard.

DH pointed out to me that we had stayed at YC before as a family which is right nextdoor to BC and memories would pop up there too. He was right so this morning I called and switched or resort to the Wilderness Lodge

I was amazed at how easy it went since we are booked with a 20% pin# that had long since expired March 18th. I had read on the DIS here that you could make changes after a promo was over, or a pin was expired but had never attempted it myself. It was easy peasy. I had worked out the math before calling and when the CM gave me the new total it was only off by 4 cents so I knew it was booked correctly with the discount :)

Anyway off to play with my ADRs now since I do have to switch a few around do to the resort change. :rolleyes1

Oh have to change my ticker too!

:woohoo: You did it!!!:woohoo: OKW and GF SL CL!!!:woohoo:

So glad you changed resorts. :goodvibes It might be bittersweet for you, but perhaps the memories will make your stay a little easier.

I see someone else has been keeping CRO busy too! :lmao:

:rotfl: Too funny! Yes, and I had to try twice to get someone who knew how to apply an old expired promo or who knew how to apply my old deposit to the new ressie so I could keep my deposit. :)

Now I just have to decide if I want to do a cabana or not... :rolleyes1

:woohoo: For our resort changers!!!:woohoo:

One for GF SL CL and one for WL!!!! All that is left is for me to turn green with only the best kind of jealousy!

I want a reservation to change too!!:rotfl:

Congrats!!!:cool1:

I KNEW IT! You were doing an awful lot of prowling around on the GF thread and when those lounge photos and menu descriptions got posted and you were asking about 1st floor rooms, etc... I said to myself, "When will Karen be changing her ticker?"

You've stayed RPC before, but never SL, right? I'm really happy for you:goodvibes. I expect a thorough GF/SL TR!

Well, you know I love the Lodge so I think you made a great choice. Did you make any room requests?

:dance3:

Umm, of course you do. Fire away your note to the IPO so they know you've changed and reserve that cabana:thumbsup2

pas130: You must be an even prouder mom today! Does this mean DS gets a milk shake? I hope you got a nap today and congratulations to DS:banana:

Hannah: How has your week been? I hope you've been able to think some happy thoughts about your next trip.

Dani: I can't remember if you're renting a cabana and if so is it half or full day, premium or "regular?"

:rotfl:
I wonder, did that include the survey at the end:scratchin

As a matter of fact I did do the survey. :rotfl: Malcom got high marks from me today! Maybe I have called so many times I have reached some kind of VIP phone status (crazy lady on line 1, AGAIN)

I've had Malcolm before! Of course, being that it's not their real names, may not have been the same Malcolm - but my Malcolm was very nice, and knew his stuff too.:thumbsup2

Congrats on all the changes! I'm sitting at my desk running numbers for my trip as I like to do because of my OCD. I love to see at the end of my long equation that everything is within budget :rotfl: I need to get serious about my surveys! I started to slack after Lily was born but I'm getting back in the game.

I do have a cabana at the Poly. I believe kaffinito persuaded to me reserve there and not GF and I'm happy she did! We have a standard cabana for half day because we're doing MNSSHP at night and I thought it would be a nice way to relax before it. :goodvibes

I requested near lobby/elevator, upper floor. I can not for the life of remember where we were the other times we stayed there but I do remember once having quite a hike down a long hallway

Not their names??? You mean Ariel was not her real name??? ;) I like to pretend that they tell us their real names.

Anywhooo. I have finalized my vacation plans (I think)
3 nights at RPR and 5 nights at Yacht club. I keep going back and forth about BC and YC. I really need someone to tell me which one is best. I think that YC means that you definitely get a large balcony and BC you may not. Which one is closer to walking to Epcot and the SAB pool and which one is closer to the boat dock and Boardwalk? :confused3 I've been out of the loop for so long but now that school is officially OVER, all grades are in, and I have my assignment for next year and all of the teaching materials including pacing guide for 7th grade :yay: (I love 7th grade), I'm ready to look over my vacation and....make some changes....maybe.... I feel a case of changeritis coming on.

Queen beds, queen beds, queens beds...just trying to convince myself not to change to Pop from POFQ! :headache:

Aw, congrats on graduating 4th grade.:goodvibes I attended Parochial school and so did my kids for 12 yrs, so we stayed put until 8th grade, then on to HS.:)

Always fun to buy teacher gifts. As a former Librarian, After School Director and pre-school teacher, might I suggest gift cards are the most welcome holiday and end of year gifts? Easy for parents we LOVED the gift cards - doesn't have to be large..$10 is fine, but we sure loved those gift cards - every teacher I know says the same.

Know what you mean about AoA having blgs of all suites or all std rooms - where does that leave a family who needs both or a guests who wants a std room, but does not like LM or Nemo (whichever will have the std rooms). I thought the Cars pics were cute (I grew up riding along Rt 66 throughout the Midwest and southwest so all those signs are very nostalgic).

Enjoy your day! I'm glad the thread hasn't been moving as quickly - easier for me to keep up.:thumbsup2

I know I can't keep up.....The graduation was so sweet:cloud9:The had a video, and it had their pictures from Kindergarten on up. I was crying like a baby.My oldest son's HS graduation wasn't as nice. It was really nice. Can you tell I liked it:goodvibes I'm getting Target giftcards for the teachers and bus driver, I did the same for Christmas, but they will be put to good use. Plus my MIL can pick them up for me...I'm having the kids make homemade cards though (a little personal touch) How are you and Miss Gracie doing?

Yep I saw Karen on the GF thread too:lmao: I am so proud...I wish I could keep my kiddos little. The ceremony was so nice, and they each got a giftbag with goodies for their lockers next year. We all celebrated with milkshakes;) DS went out to dinner beforehand with my father, and out for ice cream after with MIL...He was in his glory. The kids love their special one-on-one time...No nap, but I slept 9 hours last night:yay:

I would rather do 7th than 9th:rotfl: Congrats!!!!! I would like to officially change my name to Cinderella:laughing: I think YC has a little of an edge over BC. But I'm just going by the boards....I want to go back to GF, BUT DH wants Poly....and I have my holiday trip....soooooooooooooo I am just staying off the phone for another 70 days:lmao:

Okay Miss Missy, when did you decide this?

I've missed you guys. :grouphug: I have been missing in action for a bit with final exams, graduation, final grades, cleaning out my classroom, moving to my new school, gathering materials for next year's 7th grade class and, FINALLY, booking airfare, dining, debating how many days at US/IOA and Disney and, YES considering BC vs. YC.

At LAST I have allowed myself to get excited about finally staying at BC....or YC. Right now I am booked at the YC but today I checked and BC seems to be closer to Epcot. I want to make sure that I have a room with a daybed.

@sjs314, we stayed at WL last year and in 2007 and we love the resort. We are looking forward to BC/YC this year. I understand the difficulty of your choices. Hoping you have a wonderfully blessed trip full of happy memories :flower3:

At this point, there are no other decisions to make except YC or BC....:yay::yay::yay: I have until July 2nd to make up my mind......Almost changed to BC this morning......I need to change SOMETHING.....:goodvibes I'm off to the dining pages....:tiptoe:

Sweet! And bittersweet....DH must be VERY happy:goodvibes

We were suppose to go to Montana this year but then had to cancel our trip last year so Montana got postponed. Now we will sorta have the best of both worlds and who knows maybe I will be able to convince DH to do Disney again next year instead of Montana. DH said when we stayed at WL he forgot he was in Florida. The lodge in Montana looks very similar to WL. I know I am terrible always skeeming(sp) :rotfl:
