Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

Thank you! And at least you changed something!

We wouldn't be going down for Christmas because she is Jewish, but I was thinking about going in January because we had to go into the shops often because she was getting really hot.

CR was so beautiful! My gramma and I loved it! The view was wonderful! I enjoyed being on the Bay Lake side because I could see MK when I walk out of my room (and at the lounge) and I could see BL when I go out onto the balcony! We watched Wishes from the lounge last night. It was so wonderful! :)

Glad you and your Gramma had a wonderful time:dance3:

Hey Howdy Hey to all of the RC's old and new! Welcome new comers, welcome back recent WDW travelers. Of course it is end-of-the-year test taking time and some students think that the end has already come and have mentally "checked out." Sorry I have been away from the page for a while but now you understand why.

Anywhoo, I have good news.......I am pretty sure now where I will be next year and I know when we will be at Disney. :cool1: Soooo, I call this morning to adjust my dates and to....drum roll, SWITCH RESORTS so that I may make my ADR's for August and....you guessed it, the system is DOWN! :faint: We are go to US/IoA booking RPR 4 nights and (drum roll) BCV for 5 nights. (subject to change if CRO does not open up soon!!!) Sooooo, what do you think? Should we try for CR instead or maybe YC?) I was a little afraid to book BCV because I have been reading about renovations.

Yeah I left at 4pm-after Dinner was done, homework finished, everyone settled. As we were leaving the restaurant at 8pm (had a great time, we both needed the time away) got the txt "When are coming home the kids miss you" :headache: Just when I thought all was well...I got home with donuts, yep the kids were fine and happy:confused3 It'll be another 5 years til I go out again. I was actually contemplating an overnite trip. Just 1-2 days, I would bring my friend-and there's room for more.......I really want to see the Christmas decorations and the MK Party. Good girls only trip, of course I would lie and say I was going to Atlantic City for a convention:angel: If I get a room only bounceback IT'S ON!

DS10 is permanently Whiney....like nails on a chalkboard, drives me nuts

Oh I hear you! That's my DS10 too. :headache:

Sorry you got the guilt trip for your night out - glad you got to go out though! Maybe if you make a habit of going out for a mental health night your DH will get used to it? :goodvibes

Thank you! And at least you changed something!

Where is everyone today????:goodvibes

:rotfl2: I'm here - I've been so busy the last two days! :goodvibes

So were you able to make the change? Are you at BC now? Or did you pick something else entirely?

And I did think you were at BC initially, weren't you? Or did I loose track again? :rotfl:

Busy weekend for most I guess.

Got that right! :goodvibes

I haven't changed anything yet. I'm still hoping the $$$ works out for our trip, and then we can just go :)

I still want to do RPH though, maybe I'll, book two days at the beginning of the trip? :teeth:

I have 2 reservations, one for an earlier week at CR and one at BC for a later week. I was at BC not BCV but I'm thinking that after being at RPR we would need some space. I haven't canceled my CR reservation yet. The only think that I keep thinking about is whether or not I should switch to YC and save a few dollars. I think that a washer/dryer would be very good. I need pros/cons of YC vs. BCV. I want a full balcony and I would need a daybed in the room also.

I'm a resort changer...big time. Now that we are DVC it's even worse! I constantly tinker with my reservations. My current december trip started as 3 nights Jambo House December 4,5,6 then I added on 2 nights prior at SSR December 2 & 3, then I changed the first night to Boardwalk Dec 2, kept 2nd night SSR Dec. 3 and nights 3,4,5 still at Jambo. Then I changed nights 1 and 2 to OKW. Then yesterday I called and switched OKW to the end of the Jambo stay instead. Then this morning I tried to get Jambo value 2 bedroom for Dec. 3! Which they didn't have so...waitlist! So we are currently traveling Dec. 4-9. I need an intervention! UGH!! scared1

I am seriously looking at CR MK view for the first part of our split stay:sad2:. I wanted to stay at BC...looking at the pics it is so beautiful but DS loves MK and says Epcot is his least favorite:scared1: I told him I would consider it, so I have not changed as of yet, but I am seriously thinking about it. I wish August hurries up and come, so I will not be able to change anymore:rotfl2:

Hey y'all I'm in an indecisive mood today. I'm probably gonna end up switching soon but I don't know where. There's no better option then BWV for the time that I'm going but...I feel the need to switch. And DD asked if we could leave the day after Christmas so her friend could go.

disneydreamin247 You are NOT an awful mom. Your poor friend...glad he was able to kick drugs not an easy feat-especially with his mom being sick. I am taking a friend out for a girls night. She just had a miscarriage, but I feel like I need to go out as badly as she does. There WILL be crying and laughing at dinner I'm sure. DH is already giving me the mommy guilt about going out. My friend and I joked about hopping a plane to Disney....

disneydreamin247

You aren't a bad mom. A good Mom is one who can take time out for themselves too. :goodvibes Especially with your DS! And with a new baby on top of it? Yikes! You need more dinners with friends, not less.

Anyhow, yeah, I see a LOT of DS now that he has his own place. He was over for five hours again today. No laundry, but he does eat me out of the contents of the refrigerator. :upsidedow

I still hope I can make it to WDW this summer. I really do love baking in that hot hot hot Florida heat that time of year. Gets me ready for winter. ;)

Thanks! It just felt surreal to eat a meal without yelling at DS or cutting his food or nursing Lily. It was WEIRD! :rotfl: I even had a whole half of a beer. I was aiming for a whole one since I knew I wouldn't have to nurse right away but geez it went straight to me head. I was sweating like a pig in a slaughter house!

Yeah I left at 4pm-after Dinner was done, homework finished, everyone settled. UGh I'm SO sorry. I know how hard it is to get a night out and when it finally happens you have to be bothered. My dad is always good for one of those calls.

I see I have been missed! LOL! I hope everyone has been doing well and has been changing a lot! I had a wonderful time! It went so well! We didn't get a bounceback offer, but my gramma says in 6 months we can talk about going on another trip. ;) Though I'm hoping to go with my boyfriend. I texted him saying that we should go next year for the food and wine festival and he said maybe, but he said he wants to save up for a house and some jewelry. That totally made my day. :lovestruc Though I joked and asked if he was getting me a new necklace and he said it will be made out of macaroni and pretzels. :rotfl: I love him. He always knows how to make me smile.

I will be working on my TR as soon as I upload and resize my pictures! :) Also, the tarps are down on the castle! They were up when we got there on Monday and were gone I think on Wednesday or Thursday. Also, the progress next to Beast's castle is going great! I didn't get great pictures because I did not want to wait in the long line for Dumbo. :rotfl:

Thank you! And at least you changed something!

Welcome back!!! I'm so glad you had a great time and that you both enjoyed it so much.

Sorry I've been MIA. My friend just left last night, though I'm sure he will be back before returning to Florida. Lily has a doctor visit this morning but I'm going to reschedule it because the weather is just yucky and we had a rough night so I'd rather let her rest and be happy today than to wake her and bring her out in this to get a shot and be more cranky.

stepdisney Wish I could help with BC/YC...it is nice to see you. I was working then caught the stomach bug yesterday:sick: I think that it would be nice to stretch out in a villa at the end of the vacation:thumbsup2

LillianGracey Yes Hannah, we missed ya! Welcome back! Glad to hear you andGramma had a great trip:goodvibes

disneydreamin247 Funny with the beer. Both my friend and I had to wait 2 hours for the buzz to wear off:lmao:

supersuperwendyYou are definitely in the right place:thumbsup2

bitohoneyYou can always just change ADRs:rotfl:

OHopeful35 I do like the idea of CR:love:

kaffinito I can't take the mommy guilt:confused3 But mom needs more nights out, so I will try to get him used to it;)

Where's WDWKOOK? I'm going to search the other threads for her:rotfl:

Good Morning!! I've been reading, but y'all are fast and I've not kept up with the fun banter!! :goodvibes

BUT now that I have a trip in the planning - AT LAST - I can try to join in because without a doubt there will be some resort changing before we can even make a ressie.:thumbsup2

My friend and I celebrate a huge birthday next year (not 40, that was long time ago :rotfl2:) so we decided there was no better way to celebrate than a trip to Disney.:cool1: Her birthday is March and mine November, so we decided on the 2nd wk of Dec 2012 - a looong time to wait and room for a lot of resort mind changing. :rotfl:

The plan is to rent points at BWV, but my friend with points to rent does not own at BWV which means 7 mos out, so likely impossible. :sad2: So what to do? Try to find a DISer on the rent board and trust someone I don't know...or??? No idea what the "or" would be. HELP!!

My birthday friend has only stayed at POP on a pkg, usually free dining - fits her budget - but I so want her to experience a deluxe for our celebration. I've stayed at all levels, but by far more deluxe over the last 30 yrs and countless trips - almost every resort (no AS, OKW or YC).

Suggestions?!?! TY! Hope you all are doing well! :goodvibes

I don't think it's impossible to score BWV in December, nut I haven't done DVC in years....Sounds like a wonderful birthday celebration for you both:goodvibes

Book thru CRO at rack rate or pray for a pin or GP Discount. Villas seem to be easier to book thru CRO for the popular times than if you are DVC (just my observances looking at bookings online)

Maybe just book at BWI instead of a villa?

How are things in your "changin' world"? ;)

No changes. Though I admit to looking at many photos of the Treehouse Villas yesterday. I didn't realize that they're priced about the same as Poly CL, but they're 3 bedrooms! Really hard to rationalize for 3 people and I just can't stay at a resort that I can't walk or monorail to the MK or Epcot, but I loved looking at the photos and DH said it would be perfect someday when there is more than just the 3 of us.

How are you doing? Have you tweaked any plans? Does your trip seem like it was a million years ago?

WDWKOOK Missed u! I'm excited about WL, but still can't get GF out of my head. I would be one of those "bad moms" taking my kids out of school for vacation. I want to see decorations, but everyone else wants flowers and swimming...except DS 10 (gotta love my momma's boy):cutie:

I missed you guys, too:grouphug:.

You're not a bad mom - not even close! Here, SOLs (state mandated standardized testing) begin in May so it's not really feasible to pull kids out of VA schools in May. Plus, the schools in the south get out in May so the crowds do get larger. But it is cooler and the threat of hurricanes and tropical storms is lower.

I was working then caught the stomach bug yesterday:sick: I think that it would be nice to stretch out in a villa at the end of the vacation:thumbsup2

Where's WDWKOOK? I'm going to search the other threads for her:rotfl:

She's right here! She was gone for a few days, but she is back to reality. We went away WITH DD12 for our 24th anniversary:crowded:. She has to go everywhere with us, much to her chagrin:scared1:. But, we did have a nice mini getaway and I didn't have to cook, clean or make lunches:thumbsup2

I'm sorry you were sick:hug:. That can really take a lot out of you, especially if you get dehydrated. I hope you're all better now and getting your strength back. We need you well!

Oooo, a double birthday celebration sounds like a great idea.

sjs214 is right, you can book a cash reservation more than 7 mos. out at BWV. Could you book it at the end of this year at rack rate and then apply a pin code later on?

disneydreamin247: So the Dr.'s appt. was just a well baby check? Everything is OK, right? Are we getting close to when you have to go back to work? I just want to be prepared if we stop hearing from you as often. We still expect photos though. Working won't be a valid excuse:snooty:

Hannah: It's odd you didn't see a bounceback in the room. Sometimes guests take them and the mousekeeper doesn't put another one back. At the CR they're usually in or near the big orange bowl on the glass table near the mirror.

I think your BF is smart to be saving for a house:thumbsup2

I think a fall/winter trip with Gramma sounds perfect. Where would you stay if you went back with her?

Of course it is end-of-the-year test taking time and some students think that the end has already come and have mentally "checked out." .

I hope my DD12 isn't one of those students:laughing: It is hard this time of the year when the SOLs start and there's all the prep that leads up to them Then there's a couple of weeks at the end of the school year in June when grades have already been submitted and it's a wasted two weeks and the summer break is way too long. We really need year around school IMHO.

I'd definitely recommend the CR, but we prefer the Bay Lake view. Just our personal preference. Oh, and just because you've checked-in DOES NOT mean that you can no longer switch - I've done it twice:rolleyes1

I agree. I'd LOVE year around school. It would allow for travel when everyone else was in school. It is generally 9 weeks in and three weeks out. LOVE it!! Where are you in the NoVA area? Fortunately, we don't have English SOL's in the 9th grade.
So have I. We were booked at SSR and switched to Kidani.

Yay! Everyone is back! I didn't want to start my TR while everyone was away. :'(

@WDWKOOK: I would be so tempted to go back to CR, but I might try BWI. It really all depends on if I get a PIN because I wouldn't want to pay so much. I would love to stay at GF, but it's so expensive. I think it would be either BWI or CR. I just love the convenience of the monorail and BWI is somewhat close to the Epcot monorail so I wouldn't mind walking through Epcot to get to the monorail. We shall see. I'm really thinking about going for the Food and Wine festival with my boyfriend next year. It would be lots of fun. :)

I may not have noticed it because my gramma was sleeping in the bed next to the table while I was sleeping in the one closest to the balcony. It's ok though. I probably wouldn't be able to go again this year anyways. lol

A 'changing' thread! Nice!!

Hello everyone, I'm Brea and I am also a resort changer. :rotfl2:

Since booking my Sept '11 trip, I've switched from CSR to the Poly to CSR.. NOW I am switching my entire '11 trip to Sept '12!! We found out we are having our fourth baby in October so my Sept trip is a NO GO.

DH said we can make it an even better trip next year, so my plan now is to stay at the BC! IF I get a pin.. if not, then it will be AoA or who knows where!! :lmao:

 WDWKOOK, sjs314, pas130! Thanks! Oh, yes, know about the cash reservation, but my friend is on a very tight budget and renting points makes it affordable.:thumbsup2

I'd book, then wait for a code, but those darn good pins have been elusive for me since last year. :sad1: The general discount offers have not been good at all, which is why I thought of renting.

The last several years BWV has become very popular with DVCer's the first couple of weeks of December and one must call bright and early on the morning of 11 mos out. Next to impossible to get one at 7 mos these days.

I prefer a cash reservation (so I can make resort changes ;) ), but think it would be difficult for my friend. Of course, if we do cash, I'll spend the next 19 mos changing my mind between BWI, BC and YC. I'm not a big fan of any of the EPCOT Resorts (I'm an MK resort gal), but the location cannot be beat if spending a lot of time over there.:thumbsup2

Thanks for the suggestions! :goodvibes
