Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

I wanted to go back to WL after a wonderful trip. We went to AKL and had a totally different trip the following year. Even if we had gone to WL, it wouldn't have been the same because it was new to us the first time. (Though I did love it there....) New adventures await you at GF. Even though it won't be a romantic trip for two, the room is big enough for you to have a bit of quiet time when your 4-year-old goes to sleep. Sit out on the Balcony and enjoy the view....(make sure to get a good one). My SIL got the A+ magic Kingdom view this year and watched the wonderful fireworks and the light show ever night as well as the beautiful sunset on the beach at Poly.....I may have to add Poly to my list of must do's. Like Liz said, you can't go wrong with GF.

If you are anything like me, its so much fun imagining which resort to stay at, that once I commit, I want to change :lmao:. I don't think you could go wrong at GF, its so lovely there and very refined. I can also see why you would want to try BWI too, but with a 4 y/o I think staying at a monorail resort would work out best. Have you thought about doing a split stay - well I guess with the 7/4 that wouldn't work, but maybe you could add a night to either the beginning or end of your trip just to check out BWI. I loved staying at the Poly but I would love to stay GF too! Have fun deciding!!!

Hey stepdisney! Wow a cruise! I just got a pin code for the cruise for kids free with 2 adults, but it could never work for me as my DH would never go - ahhh shucks, but good for you. I don't know anything about the choices of staterooms - but pick a room that is not next to the elevators, that much I know. Hey have fun planning your cruise!

Hey Liz! We got a pin code for the cruise too but it is only until April...can't swing it that soon. We have stayed at AKL but the others have not. I think I'd like to do a MK or EP resort this time but we may go moderate with the cost of the Cruise and all. The only Moderate I'm interested in is CSR with the queen beds or maybe a suite at the AS movies. Gotta have ROOM! Kidani SPOILED me!!!

I hear ya! I was lucky enough to get that room upgrade from Pop to OKW and now I am a resort snob:snooty:! I really want to take my kids again in January and I am trying to figure out a way to go back, but need to stay at least a mod:lmao:. Even with the 7/4 it still seems more expensive than last year, but last year I was able to use my FF miles for free airfare, and this year I don't have that option :headache:! Anyhow I think CSR looks great and would love to stay there too, but now with the new upgrades and queen beds, availability is tougher to get. If you are thinking CSR - grab it now, since I checked several weeks for me and couldn't get it. I guess I will have to be content to plan my imaginary trip. Well it could happen !!!! :lmao:

Hi! Just found your thread. I'm fairly new to DIS, so I didn't know there was a name for this condition:rotfl: It never struck me until this year, but I had a terrible case and I'm not sure it's over. Here's my story for November trip: started with room only at Poly (before AP rates came out), then MK view Tower at CR, then AP rate at GF, then free dining at Poly, then AP rate at WL. THEN our dates changed due to a work conference (we get to stay 3 more days!) DH almost got dizzy when I tried to explain it to him. When 4/7 came out and I started looking at the numbers to see if we could do a split stay, he actually did say "step away from the computer"!:lmao: So I left it alone, we're going 11/5-11/14 at WL.

The fun part is: I also booked a 3 night stay at WL in Jan for our anniversary (no kids!) Since we're there in Nov, I'm waiting for AP rates to come out to change to Poly (or YC or BWI). I need help!

Whew, it feels good to let it all out! Thanks :goodvibes

Welcome :wave2:
You'll feel right at home here with us.
I've been back from Disney for 2 weeks and already changed my bounceback 4-5 times:rolleyes1

This thread is a stitch!

I just acquired this "condition" as well. About 30 min. ago! :rotfl:

My story: I had booked WL on the 4/3 deal in January for my mom and me. Would have liked to Poly, but realistically can't afford that this year so we booked WL which we've stayed at before and liked. However, being January and coming from a wintery Michigan, I couldn't help but think that staying there would remind us of where we came from and we want to be someplace that would remind us we were on vacation! So I switched us over to our other favorite resort, POFQ. Saved $400.

'Course, now I'm wondering if it is time to try PORS??!! The rooms look so homey and the food court looks a bit better than the French Quarters.

And it's soo easy to switch resorts....Somebody stop me!

I need some therapy! We could not decide between BW and CR (with the 4/3). When I called to book I decided to go with CR Garden View, as there were no standard view rooms available at either, and that put BW just out of our budget. Well, then a room at BW became available, so I switched. We were just at CSR, and while we were there I talked myself back into CR. I would like to try something new and stay at BW, but we really spend more time at MK than anywhere else, and I love the restaurants at CR too. The good news is, the only rooms available at CR are Garden Wing standard view, so I saved a couple hundred dollars in the process. The view isn't really a big deal to us when it comes to garden/standard/water. I think this will be the last time I change it, but who knows? There are still 4 months until we leave!

Secret squirrel (love that name by the way) Did you consider AKL? Same price range as WL but a different scene than wintery Michigan. Just a thought. I think maybe PORS for a change may be good too! I hear that food court is better....

OOPS, I'm not helping :sad2: I agree, it is WAY to easy to switch.

Diz Kid, it is amazing how many times you can switch in 4 months!! :thumbsup2: Take it from me, never say "this is the last time" :goodvibes.

Okay, this is what I know so far:

Going on either 3 night or 4 night Disney Cruise - Bahamas/Disney Wonder/August.....not sure what catagory yet, still looking for a great deal.

Depending on the amount of nights, either 5 or 4 night land package
We will either be staying at WL or AKL or CSR or ASMU family suites, or Swan or Dolphin. uh I'm not sure WHERE we are staying but we are currently booked at AKL. :rotfl:

Two nights at Universal (new Harry Potter opening next Year) - Either Royal Pacific or Hard Rock (heard the pool is very nice :thumbsup2)

I'm going to need a Valium before this is over....:scared1:

Cha Cha Cha Changes......

Two nights at Universal sounds fantastic!

we did 3 nights this year and last year and 4 days was overkill for us. We could probably get through both parks in 1 day with the FOTL access. With 3 days we can have a day for each park and "favorites" for the last day. The parks close at 7:00 so we have plenty of time for pool and resort time. :thumbsup2

I've been toying with the idea of trying Universal next year instead of WDW?
My 14 year old wants to go to US/IOA. The other 2 kids want to go to WDW again. I'm torn and so confused:confused3
Maybe a split stay between both? Or just US/IOA for a week & half the $$$$???

Hey Howdy Hey Leeann!

My DS14 LOVES US/IOA. I'm sure that it will be a hit for all of the kids. A week may be a little long unless you add tickets to WDW which isn't a bad idea. Having the front of the line access makes the park VERY enjoyable and much quicker. My son and two of his friends who happened to be there the same time went back and forth between the two parks and rode anything they wanted as many times and then went back to go swimming. It was a blast but after a few days you may get tired of riding your "favorite" ride over and over. You can save a bundle but you'll probably end up doing a few days of WDW regardless.

Ah yes, the Saga continues....

Loved WDW but DS12 has his heart set on US/IOA, especially with TWWOHP so we'll prob do another split-stay, but this time between 2 parks! But then there's the logistics of it all...

Onsite for Universal (LOVE the FOTL!!!). The theme of RP is gorgeous, but atmosphere pool/slide at HR is so fun for the kids. And, would like to try PB (nice big rooms, ahhhh). Then at DW we'll stay onsite again and it's between Poly CL/LV or would like to give the CR CL/MKV a whirl.

We visited AKL, WL and GF and can prob cross those off our list (for now anyway):upsidedow

I'm going to give it a few before I get to work on the planning and just let the joy of this last trip settle in for now.

Then again...those land/sea packages sure look enticing!!!:cloud9:

I just got an email from my DSIL and we have reserved time tomorrow afternoon to SKYPE and get our plans in order. They are looking for me to have the information about the land portion.....I get to pick the resort???!!! Okay, I need your help.

Our family: 2 Adults DS14 DS 8
SIL: 2 Adults DS 13 DD 3 DS 4
DCousin 2 Adults DS 11 DS 7 (?) or 8

We need a resort that sleeps 5 but is cost effective (although we will only stay land portion 4/5 nights). I would love to stay Kidani again but this may be pricey. Maybe the big Kahuna suite at AKL...(don't know what it's called) How much is THAT suite? OR...Maybe treehouses......not really feeling like attempting SSR again...:scared1:

I made reservations for myself, Dh, DS (2) DD(6months) grandparents.
1. Saratoga Villas read reviews about not feeling the "magic" and changed
2. CSR price was great staying in two regular rooms
3. Decided with two small children change to Boardwalk Villas Studio
4 for 3 deal came out 1 bedroom Villa and 1 studio rented
will arrive November 26-December 3rd still wondering if I made the right choice.

Ok I think I'm settled now! Disney visa dscounts came out so I changed our Jan 2-5 trip to the Poly!!:cool1: maybe that will be the end of my changes for now. It will be my first stay at the Poly:banana:

Now on to planning my changes for the Oct 2010 trip;)

We started out 6 nights at the Fort, then changed to 6 nights at POP, then we changed to 1 night in Tampa and 5 at POP, then 1 in Tampa, 5 at POFQ, (but wanted CSR-no rooms available) then wend back to 1 night in Tampa, and 5 at POP. Still have 3 months to go
