Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

It is time. Personally I need some sort of a 12 step program.:scared: I have been reading this thread for quite awhile but have been in denial that I need to join you. I changed my mind tonight. I really need someone to talk me down from the need to change resorts.

Right now we are staying at POR-R in May. I was a good girl when I made ressie's and went with the cheapest option for my family of 5. I COULD have made ressie's at CR at that point which is where my boys really want to stay but I didn't. Since then I have second guessed myself. I think about this constantly! My dh thinks I am nuts!! :crazy2: I have been thinking about the space issue. I know my boys and no matter how tired they are at the end of the day they still take awhile to go to sleep. Last year I went down for a last minute trip with the boys and my mom. We stayed at the Royal Plaza. We had a regular tower room and after the first night my mom went down and bucked up for the presidential suite! We needed the space!! So, this has me thinking that I really should upgrade to at least a deluxe. Right? Right?

So, I have been looking at deluxes. Nothing has opened up at CR but there are rooms at BC & YC. Is it worth the extra $$, I don't know. The YC also has CL open for my dates and that is only $280 more than the water view room, so if I am going to splurge for that I may as well pay a few hundred more and go with CL right? I mean I have 3 growing boys that eat like horses! Even with the dp I think we will still get our moneys worth.

I haven't made any changes yet but this has become an obsession for me! HELP!! :scared:

Imgaddis, welcome:thumbsup2 Yes dear, we are here for you ;) . You say you need a 12 step, here we are... (Check out my name.....need I say more) you are at home. :goodvibes

I understand about space. We have 2 boys and we need space! We need to stay somewhere where there are enough beds so that I don't have to hear "make him stop" or "Don't touch me" all night. We opted for AKL and WL because of the bunk beds and when we stayed at pop, we had 2 rooms. Some think that this is extreme but can I tell you the two bathrooms and everyone in their own bed made that the boys favorite trip thus far! You may want to look at the cabins...lots of room there though I haven't stayed there. We are staying BCV because we want to try an EPCOT resort and the daybeds are nice. DHS is our favorite next to MK so the location is great. You may want to try a villa and rent points. Both Kaffinito and Disneybride will help you out with that one. I haven't braved into the DVC area yet. Don't worry, we'll narrow it down to 3 resorts that you can obsess over until you leave.....that way it'll be fun :hyper:

I need help too!! I can't take it anymore. How can choosing a resort be so difficult. I spent my lunch hour yesterday and today on the phone with AAA.

There are 7 of us so we need 2 rooms or a villa. I was offered OKW at a cheap price, but I don't think I want OKW. The only villas that are available are Kidani, but no discount. We spend a lot of time at Epcot, but the boys hated the "hot" boat when we stayed at the Swan. I've always wanted to stay at BC, but I have a nonswimmer so the pool makes me nervous.

I think there is something really cool about the CR, but it will be very expensive. My husband thinks that we should stay at AKL, but I worry about the transportation.

How will I ever decide??? Help please!!!:guilty: :guilty:

We were actually booked at OKW at one time. I think that it has the most square footage. BCV would be nice. Also, there is a quiet pool isn't there? You wouldn't have to worry about the nonswimmer. Welcome to the thread where there is no cure :sad2: .;)

hey stepdisney I haven't changed yet but with all the deals flying around it's so tempting, my DH works for an airline so we are already getting a good deal. I've always wanted to stay at CR and GF at the point I booked had gone up considerably from our last stay buttttttttttttt as it gets closer the deals seem to be getting better.

I friend of DH's is staying at Saratoga and we went online to look at pictures and WOW does it look good, but I'm partial to AKL and monorail resorts plus it doesn't help that I'm a complete resort snob.

Hi! Now take a deep breath, you'll be fine! You aren''t nuts - we all go through that! I'm still messing around with our August trip, have gone from one resort to three, and from 8 days to 14 and back down to 9. For us, that's normal! I understand the desire for a deluxe resort because of space, but you really will be ok at POR in the AB section with a trundle bed. That is such a beautiful relaxing resort, and the trundle bed really is perfect for the third child!

My two boys are so far apart in age that they need separate beds, and it worked out great for us at POR. We haven't tried a day bed at the deluxes yet, but I can see that one coming! If you really, really have to book a deluxe, then go for YC/BC, as your boys will love the pool.

(But you really would be fine at POR!) :goodvibes

Have you looked at photos of OKW on the OKW lovers thread? It's a really lovely resort, IMHO. I visited there last trip and just loved it! It's my secret desire to stay there now that we own DVC. :goodvibes The pools are laid out well too, so you wouldn't have to worry about the nonswimmer.

AKV is beautiful too, but of course we can only go by Jambo for now. :sad2: The pool at Kidnai is supposed to be as big and complicated as the one at YC/BC I heard. At least it will be big and will have two slides, not one. Transportation at AKL is awesome! So far that resort has the best and most timely buses. The food is good too!

I know I wasn't the best help there, but honestly, my preference between the two would be both, so I would go for the discount to save some $$$. :goodvibes Good luck with the planning! :)

S&K, I keep thinking about SSR. I have a wonderful opportunity to use a stacked discount. I LOVE the pool area.....I think you should try it....or AKL....or a monorail resort.....:confused3 Kaffinito....help me....:wave2:

Umm, ok! Change over to AKL for 2 nights, then Poly for four nights followed by SSR for the rest of the trip. Did that help? :rotfl2:

Thanks stepdisney, until I actually check in to a resort is when the final decision is made!!!

I have to go back, lots of catching up to do! We have been in Northern California enjoying warm weather;).....LOVE your tag kaffinito!!!!!

Kaffinito, I just noticed your TAG!!! OOOOh, Pretty :goodvibes I want to petition the tag fairy to tag you queen of the resort changers!!! princess:

Disneybride, love your new avitar. Are they princesses in the sand? Hope you had a wonderful trip.

Now...up for vote at my house is Universal studios again or 3 days at sea. Is it too late to book a Disney Cruise for the first part of our vacation? Will I need a resort room for the first night? :hyper:

I was reading along, and thought "what is stepdisney and DisneyBride03 talking about? I've had that little ol' tag about the Reservations so?!? :confused3

And then I checked my tag and my avatar, and OMG! I got a TAG! The Tag Fairy tagged me! :dance3: I love it! "Angry gerbils" HA! That is soooo cool! :rotfl2:

Well, I made some progress with my dilema. As I ran through all the options at 3:00 am, I had an epiphany. If the 40% discount is not offered for Augusr then I will stay at the Doilphin withe the teacher's discount and the $300/day I save can be used for food.

Now if the discount comes out then I will have to reanalyze my plan. Then I would probably try to book 2 rooms at the AKL, or if I'm in the moos to spend a little more then I could get 2 rooms at the CR. Oh, the possibilities are endless. So for now I will book my Dolphin rooms and keep planning!!!:cool1:

Well at least one of of us had made progress! :) You might get Free Dining again in August, which will save you a ton of $$ on your food, but only if you stay at AKL perhaps. ;) What about a 2 bedroom villa at AKL on rented points? That would save a lot of money too, and you wouldn't need two resort rooms...

I'm still stuck myself. I'm still going back and forth over those two little days at the start of our trip. Will it be two days at WL CL, ($900) or two days GV at Poly ($799)? Or will I take one day off of the trip and stay in a 1Bdr at SSR to use up my DP's (free)? :confused3 Oh well, I love planning trips!

So stepdisney..where ARE you for the upcoming trip?????

I lost track! lol
I have been cured I think! I have not one made ONE change.....however, we still have to decide how long we stay until we move over to DVC! lol

BCV so far. We are looking at DCL for three days at the beginning of the trip for a land and sea. We went to universal studios in August for three days and stayed on site, it was wonderful but we wanted to do something different this time so DH suggested DCL for a land and sea. Do we have to book a room on site for one day and then take the bus to the port? I'm clueless. It may mean looking for a room for one night. If so, what do you suggest?

What is this..."I've been cured!" Give it time, you'll change!!

Dilemmas....dilemmas.....:scratchin :beach:

Yes, Ava has..."'rella...White....Beauty...and beast Beauty..Mermaid"....she saw lots of Scuttles but never found Mermaid! lol

I would go for 3 nights on the cruise.....how great knowing once you get off the ship, you still have WDW!!!! I would get a cheapo resort room for the first night, then you can have ME.....and then get to the port early enough!
We took DCL transportation and didnt get there til everyone else did! ha! We left the BWV.....it was also a launch day at Cape Canaveral...
Keep us psoted!! I know you will!!!:coffee: ::yes::
