Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

CBR has the new pirate ship pool right? There may be a lot of kid action at the pirate pool. The WL pool makes me think of a lake in the pacific northwest with a bubbling stream leading from the lobby to the pool. There is also a beach (don't go in the water though). I think an all adult trip would be great for WL.

maybe this is not where I should be asking :lmao: but ...
:santa: Christmas surprise - DH said to book the 4/3 deal for spring  actually a big surprise :cool1: I was shocked

very quickly (don't have to ask me twice :lmao: ) booked CBR - this is in DH's top 2 of resorrts w/ the Poly being the other - really he likes them equally since they both have top notch pool complexes

then later that day (please see my previous post) he said, maybe we should be closer to MK for you so changed to WL, then he said go closer, so CR BUT after reading the resort thread found the main pool will be closed to be redone for our trip dates so that put CR on the no go list, back to CBR

so now I am here :surfweb: on the resort changers thread (aka enablers :rotfl2: club) asking .:rolleyes1 ......... what if I switch back to WL? We've never stayed there. How is the main pool complex? Is it worth the extra $600 over CBR?

I would be really grateful for your opinions.

:flower3: Please help!:flower3:

Sounds like he was asking you to book the Poly! Since we switched, I think I am suffering from Poly!nesia

must be strong, do not call......do not call......40% off isn't that much, right?

Oh C'mon now! A 40% code and you're resisting!! Call already! 40% is a really good deal, and like Singinglizzie said, you could always switch! ;)

Of course you may, I've been watching too many Christmas movies, in "While you were sleeping".. there's that line that goes ""Oh my God he has "Poly?nesia", ok he says, "Oh my God he has Amnesia :lmao: :lmao: Really, same thing!!!!

Where is everyone this morning? OK, I admit it, I have no life beyound the DIS boards:rotfl2: . 20 days to go and I am getting edgy. What is wrong with me, we have a great LV room at the Poly, and yet I still check availability every day for GF? BTW, it's not available and hasn't been on my dates since I started checking 6 months ago. Doesn't Disney know that I need them to open up on my dates so that I can keep my options open :lmao: !

OMG, you are so funny! I did the same exact thing with our November trip (I'm still resisting rebooking June, btw). Only thign I could book for Nov. when I first booked was BC (that was with the meesly AAA discount, to use my PIN code I would have had to upgrade to LV and pay MORE). Well, I kept checking and lo and behold the Poly opened up with my PIN back in October. Booked it, as it was actually a little less per night than my AAA BC room. Well, kept checking and GF opened up for a little more per night, so I switched again! Kept that room ,was upgraded to lagoon view at check in, view was of ......... the Poly! Funny thing was we never really spent any time on that balcony, which was my main reason for leaving BC in the first place!

Hi rcraw, funny maybe, pathetic is probably more likely. I had a dream last night that we finally checked into our room at the Poly. It had a huge bathroom with a huge tub on the first floor (which I don't want a room on the first floor) and we had a view 'from the bathroom" of these tennis courts, a parking lot and some greenery. I kept thinking in the dream, wow this isn't too bad. Then I remember going down an escalator but couldn't find my way back "up" to the room (makes no sense if we were on the ground floor) but my kids were with me in this 2 story shopping mall and I kept saying 'isn't this nice kids"!!!! So see, I am officially losing it - I mean how many people start dreaming about their trips? I wasn't kidding when I said I have Poly!nesia. Here's my new tag: I have Poy!nesia - could be contagious:rotfl2: !!!

:rotfl: you're cracking me up. I've really missed you two!

OMG :worship: :worship: :worship:

How are you!!!!! Great to see you~
I was recently playing resort changers for Feb...but then we decided to forgo the Mommy and 2 DD's trip....we are going to San Francisco in a few weeks to visit DH's family....I guess Grandpa ranks higher than Mickey Mouse!:rotfl:

And we are doing a week long family cruise/trip next year...but I still get to sneek away in Sept:)

ANyway...Happy New Year!!

And Happy New Year...I so enjoy reading all the recent "dilemma's"......:dance3:

I've got it baaad again.

So, we are going in Feb, and still staying at the VWL. No changes there butttt:

I took the end of March, beginning of April off because the kids are off for spring break. I was just innocently perusing airfares on Kayak, but didn't expect any deals, this is spring break mind you. Well, I found $124 fares on American and booked them as fast as I could get my amex out:thumbsup2 . But whre to stay?

The buy 4 get 3 deal looks good...but I'm only there 6 nights...but the $200 giftcard...I booked POP with dining for the 4 of us for 1288 (which I consider $988 because I will save the 4 1 day passes...Disney math rears it's ugly head). Am I done? Heck no.

You see, I just can't see us spending 6 nights in that little room at Pop. I am totally spoiled by DVC 2brs. Unfortunately I am also totally out of points. So I innocently plug my dates into Gtahotels and what do I find? A 3br at Lake Buena Vista Resort Village and Spa (ain't that a mouthful) buy 2 nights, get 4 free. No, I did not mistype. A 3 br villa for 6 nights for a grand total of $354!!!!. I also booked a midsize car on Alamo for $140.

Air, lodging and car for 4 for $1000! We have AP's, so no ticket cost. We also have the Disney Dining Exeperience card, so 20% off TS meals. I should be jumping for joy.

But part of me is a bit worried. Can I handle offsite by myself with 3 kids (9,7,5)? Should I just bite the bullet and book the CR in a standard wing room? The LBVRVandS (much easier) looks very nice, and they have an awesome pool. Truly we will have an onsite trip just 7 weeks before this one, so maybe this trip should just be about relaxation with a pop into the parks when we feel like it. But do I need to worry about security being by myself.

Stay tuned ya'll cuz this junkie's goin' on a bender:crazy2: !!!!!

40% is HUGE!

Yeah, but then there's the cost oftickets and food :rotfl: THe hotel is the least of my worries, what killed me in November was $1100 for 4 3 day hoppers and dinners that were over $100 each :)

If you want to save, I have a hint-Do not eat at the Coral Reef. We go every year and love it. This year the food was awful and the service was worse. The bill for 2 adults, 2 teens, and a 6 year old-no alcohol. 346.00 without the tip

WTH? I thought that YS was bad at over $200 without tip. We were on DDP that time, but still had to pay tip, and girls, technically shared, the $80 something chateaubriand, lol. 'Ohana runs us $120+ without tip every time (we did DDP the one time, decided it's not worth it for us), Our meal at Nine Dragons, with DH having only a bowl of soup (stomach bug) was over $80 without tip. SHeesh, we love Disney, and love dining at Disney, but where does it end? Our 3 day trip cost us well over $3K in November! Financially that's not a deal breaker for us, but it was so dang crowded we only rode a handful of rides. Nothing at all in EPCOT, you could not walk in that place. Did the most, surprisingly, in MK on a Friday evening. Thankfully, we have been so many times that we didn't feel we missed anything ( we managed TSM one time), but if we were first timers we'd be sorely disappointed.

**Sigh** I love this thread! deide71, sounds like a really bad bender! I'm looking forward to seeing where your bender takes you - maybe you will end up at the CR?

rcraw45425 I do the DDP so I don't have to "see" how much the meals are costing us!

So ladies, will you all let me visit this thread from time to time after we become DVC members?

That's right, DH decided that it makes good financial sense for us to buy into DVC!

So, we're looking into buying at BLT. Oh, how am I going to stand having those large rooms and the horror of having to go to AKV and BLT every year! :lmao:

The only downside, and it is a HUGE downside for me, is that we won't be able to stay at the Poly this summer. It seems that you can get matching developers points when you join right now, so we'll have to take our summer trip as a "freebie" :sad1: But maybe I can tack two days onto the beginning of the trip at the Poly so at least I have the chance to stay there once! :)
