Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

Like a moth to a flame, I am drawn to this thread, ha ha, so just checking in. 5 weeks to go, you should be proud - I'm sticking to the club rooms at CSR, no changes!!! Of course now that that is settled, I'm focusing on my ADR's. I think I've only changed them like 20 times, and we only have 6 sit down meals I should add dining reservations to my speed dialer . I like that saying, the only thing certain in life is change!!!

Ok, Ok, had to post one more time. Well you won't believe it, but I got a call yesterday from WDW and guess what.... the new CSR club rooms are not going to be ready for our arrival, so I was offered a choice to ...switch. I think they must have been reading these posts and said "aha - Singinglizzie says no changes, well we'll see about that" . Anyhow, we would up switching to the Poly. Now my head is spinning, since all my adrs we based on travel time from CSR. But, its all good and I'm so excited to be going to WDW !

I will still stay at the Poly, but am thinking that maybe we stay the first part of the trip at WL in one of those CL rooms, then go to Poly for the last 5 days of the trip this August.

Just kicking this one around. I would love to stay at CR, but there are NO regular rooms left in the Garden Wing (except for the Deluxe). Plus I think that CR would just irritate me to no end. I really don't like a lot of hustle and bustle, and WL might be a better choice. The kids are just plain irritated, and they both want to go back to POR and forget about staying Deluxe.

So, WWYD?

I would stay CR deluxe and then POR for the kids. This would even out, somewhat, the extra for the deluxe room at CR. You might want to do POR first though, and then CR. More fun getting the upgrade near the end. As for me, I'm rethinking the whole SSR and now thinking we may as well do the BCV. We want Villa but I REALLY want epcot this time.....

Well, I am sorry you can't get the CSR CL room - I was looking forward to a review of them and some pics. The rooms look really nice over there too. It could be worse than the Poly for your trip, at least you didn't get a choice of two you didn't like.

Girl, this thread cracked me up when I saw it. It's been a LONG time since I posted and I was thinking of you & DisneyBride. Then I go over here and see this, lol.

I'm in the process of talking DH into a Disney trip but we've gotten in the habit of going to the beach 2 or 3 times a year for the price of 1 Disney vacation. Doesn't look like it's going to happen for me or I would be the same resort changing Diva as ever.

I'd go for BCV. Especially if you are going after they finish rehabbing the SAB.

I don't know about my CR, WL CL, or Poly dilemma. It got so much worse after I checked points and crunched some numbers! Now I'm leaning towards renting points (again) and going for a VWL, 2 bedroom unit on rented points. I could save close to $3000.00 on our summer trip that way.

Yeah can you believe it. I felt like the world stood still for a minute, then I said, this isn't a pratical joke is it, well maybe I said something like that? I was pretty disappointed until they offered me a deluxe upgrade of my choice. So since the Poly was on my short list, we switched there. I did ask about GF , but I already knew it was sold out for our dates. Well, a gal can ask right? We could have stayed at CSR, but part of the draw was getting a new room and having access to the new club lounge. Now, we will just have to tough it out at the Poly You still will be proud of me, since I did ask if I could change to another resort if my kids were upset with the new switch as I had not spoken to them about it, and.....-they said YES, so who knows, I still could change... again! Ah, life is good!!!!!

YOU ARE OUR SHERO!!! I miss ya ktink. Disneybride & I talk about ya all of the time!!! I agree with you on the beach vacationing thing. We're trying to do a separate Tampa/beach vacation this year and we'll be cutting our Disney vacation a few days to pay for it. Think about how much fun it will be when your DH finally says "okay it's Disney this year!!!" We need your guidance here on the resort changers support page

WOW.....when THEY call you to switch that's really big. Yes, I think they heard you say NO MORE SWITCHING. Maybe we'll all say it and see what happens. You poor dear, having to stay Poly...

I'd choose....wait a minute....is this a trick question??!! Of course it wouldn't matter what we'd choose because we'd only change it a million times. The question is "What would you choose first?" I'd choose GF if I could get the dates and then I'd try Poly and then BC/YC which is where I want to switch to.

That's a tough one. If I had a ressie at a mod and was offered a free deluxe upgrade I think I would probably go for AKL or for CR. I loved it at AKL, and would really like to go back there (March trip notwithstanding) but wouldn't mind a regular garden view room at CR either. I'm not interested in the CR tower rooms, but would really like one of those regular rooms instead. (Ok, or a suite if that was offered)

I had a thought though, what if one of the GF rooms becomes available for your dates? Will you switch from Poly to GF? It's not like you weren't set on CSR, so the switching wouldn't be your doing then would it?

we started the morning by booking at CBR - around noon switched to WL to be closer to the MK - then this evening DH said heck if you want to be really close to MK let's do CR. so .. made those switches,

then read about all the construction at CR AND the main pool w/be closed. The parks are for me, the pool is for DH so.... in the morning we'll be back to the CBR, love the main pool complex, love the rooms & saving $1000.

Ha Ha, you must be reading my mind. Yeah if GF opened up, I would consider switching there, but we leave in 3 weeks and we have to get our doucments etc, so I don't think I have much time to switch. Maybe something will open up next week or maybe last minute cancellations? Then again I've always wanted to stay at the Poly, so its all good. Now I'm back to the beginning - where to stay ?

That's not a bad switch. You still get rooms that are 314 square feet, all of that extra storage, you've saved money, and you're getting a redone pool. Not too shabby!

Thank you!!! I feel a LOT better now than I did when telling DH about the main pool complex closure at CR!! You get so geared up for something and then, but it's all better now!!
we love CBR and then later (next fall) we booked bounceback for the Poly.
It's all to plan a trip we weren't expecting for March!

hey Stepdisney! Yeah thats what I thought too. We are on the same page, first GF, the Poly. But I really, really wanted to stay in those new rooms at CSR. I like new and shiny!!! I did PM Disneybride03 right after they called me and she said I should go Poly, so I guess I got lucky that a room was available! I told the CM that called are you sure you have the right person, are you sure this isn't a mistake and your not gonna call me back and say we made a mistake on the price and we're gonna have to charge you more? My guess is that it's probably hard on those CM's to make these kind of calls, especially when folks have their hearts set on a certain vacation, then Disney tells them no !

I wonder if they will be doing any work to SSR or OKW? That's a call I'd LOVE to receive. I'm sure I'd ask for the Ashanti Suite at AKL or something.... Of course you know your post has all of us dreaming and drooling over an open choice of resorts........ We can't help it.

Funny thing is that I understand . I got a new email confirmation but all it says it Poly sxz but no rooms details, so I placed a call to "make sure" but all I got is an answering machine. I just don't want to show up with my trip vouchers for CSR to find out something differerent . To "pass" the time, I checked again on GF, but it is not available for the 1st 2 days of our trip - hmm, a split stay, well probably not a good idea for only 5 nights. Ya know, I need to get a life! Wondering what I'm going do after the trip is over and then I won't need to compulsively check all the available resorts ?

Ha Ha, thanks for checking for me. OK, but I really don't think I'm going change this time ! I got the call back and they have confirmed we are now @ Poly in a LV concierge room! (It was the only open category) Pinch me!!!!! I love Disney!!!! Of course, I told my kids that "next " trip we'll go stay at CSR in one of those darn club rooms !!!
