Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

Where is everybody? I need you ! Dare I say it, but Club rooms just opened up at GF . I think my kids was be majorly disappointed if I switched, but I can't help myself, since I really don't know when we will be able to get back there. Should I stick to the Poly, lagoon view, club level or switch to GF -club. HELP! What is wrong with me, why do I keep wanting to switch? When I was at CSR I really wanted the Poly, now that we have it, I want GF - seriously I need help !

We hate the Poly but I have to agree with kaffinito: if the only club rooms available are in Sugar Loaf and not the Royal Palm, stay at the Poly. Sugar Loaf is just ok.

DH really wants to stay where we are booked, I was just thinking that we could upgrade our tickets to the WPF&M if we downgrade the room. Also, the parks are opened so late at that time of the year compaired to Sept., that we were not in the room so much. Help!!!

YUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's official, BCV for us.....for now anyway. I'm so sorry that I've been hit or miss. This is my 1st year teaching and I'm in a "difficult" district. Lots of things on the horizon for us.... good things but stressful things. We were going to do a kitchen renovation but are not because we are putting our house on the market..... DH got a wonderful promotion which includes transfer. STRESS He can start work from here for now but we need to be moved by the beginning of July... This means selling our home and finding a home in VA. All very good but VERY stressful. I need you guys to remind me when my 180 mark is so that I won't forget to make dinner ressies. I have to keep reading to catch up.

I just spoke to my niece. My BIL is making a strong recovery and it's not as bad as we originally thought. My sis is with him and most likely he will be released next Thursday, so they can fly home. Now, it's selfish of me to still want my Sister to join us since I know she will want to stay with her DH, but I understand (and I know you understand me still wanting her to come, even though her DH just had a heart attack - what am I thinking!). Anyhow, thanks for the good thoughts and prayers. Knowing he is alright has lifted my dark cloud !

I'm so sorry to hear about your BIL and glad to hear that he is doing better. I hadn't been on in a few days and was glad that by the time I got here things were looking better. I'm praying for a full recovery.

If GF is your dream, and you don't know when you'll go again, I would book GF. I'd spend some time showing the kids why you want GF. However, if they'd be too disappointed, and you wouldn't be terribly disappointed, I'd keep Poly. You really can't go wrong at Poly....except if you really, really want GF.... Am I helping?

HeyStepdisney, thanks for all the encouraging words! We have missed you. Hope things ease up for you at work and congrats on the upcoming move. I hope all goes well with selling your house. Where I live, we couldn't give our house away (ok I'm exagerating) but the market is tough here, so hope you have great luck! Thanks for the prayers too. My BIL is doing better! Anyhow, still haven't called to "switch". I made a couple of posts, trying to get advise, but it's running about 50/50. I keep thinking that if we switch to GF, we won't get the lagoon view and this trip is supossed to be for the kids, not me , but then again its always about me, right? Does making the switch on line and toying with the idea of hitting the button at the end when it says "accept this offer" but exiting at the last minute count? ....

Stay put at Poly. I want to stay there eventually. Its like you said, it gives you an excuse to book another Disney vacation. By the way, I've switched to BCV and haven't told my DH yet My plan is to tell him that it was a SURPRISE gift from us for landing the promotion..... Any suggestions . By the way, I've changed 3 times since my ticker. I'm afraid to change it.....

Hi All, well... I think we are going to stay put. Thanks for the comments StepDisney. My DS really wants the Poly. I just got off the phone with a dear friend, who said they stayed at the GF paid for by her DH's parents 2 years ago. She said it was very lovely, but she liked the looks of the Poly and would like to stay there if they went back. She has really great taste, so that says something. She also said she didn't like any of the food at Disney, with the exception of Narcosse's, so I wonder what or where they ate - will have to ask? I do think my kids would like the Poly better, plus we get the lagoon view. Maybe now that my sis isn't joining us, I can plan another trip and she and I could stay GF, without the kids . Now, that would be a dream trip!!!!! I've been reading some of the trip reports and I see many families book split stays and do like a value, then one of the deluxes so it evens out the cost. Let's see 6 nights GF, 1 night Pop, ok make that 1 night CSR, - already saving money !!!! Woo hoo, 5 days to go - getting more excited everyday!

Hey all! I'm just stopping by to wish Singinglizzie a *magical* trip. And I was ready to smack you upside the head when I saw you were thinking of changing from Poly!! J/K - but I'm glad you're sticking with Poly. Maybe you can book a Bounceback for GF? (just a thought!)

Stepdisney, Congrats to your DH on the promotion! It will be a very busy time for you but don't let it stress you. It will all fall into place and, lookie there........you're moving closer to WDW!!

Not sure if you knew, but you can not make your ADRs at 180 days any longer. It's 90 days now. Here's the info:

Jambo RachelTori!!! I was a little confused about the ADR situation. The last time I changed resorts, or the next-to-the-last time, I forget, I was told that the glitch in the system would be cleared up and that sometime around March it would go back to 180 days. She said that the only reason it was 90 days now was because they had a new system. I have to go do research. Thanks for the well wishes. You are so kind Thanks for the link.

Ha Ha, its too late, I did read that thread and was suprised that they have opened the club rooms at CSR. But, I have new documents and we are definately confirmed at the Poly, Lagoon view Club . I made sure when we 'swtiched" that no one was going to call me back and say we made a mistake, or say now you we can't stay at the Polly. The CM even laughed at me and said, yes you are confirmed at the Polly. The offer was another deluxe, concierge level based on availability, but GF wasn't available at the time, which is why I kept thinking maybe it will open up, and it did. I think though that the Poly will be great. And, I will save GF for another time. Wow, 4 days to go. Just hope the snow lets up here and we aren't stuck in Cleveland on our departure day. Wishing everybody the same pixie dust !!! 4 days to go - woo hooo!!!

Anyonw have the link to the pool refurbishment at Gf? My sister said they were re-directing guests to use the pool at the Poly . Of course, it's probably gonna be too cold for swimming at the end of this week, but ya never know. I hope the pool isn't over-run by GF guests .

We are almost done moving into our new house and I haven't really had a chance to check in to see how all of you were doing. I did see that you are going to be selling your place and moving and that's a big job! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that all goes well.

I'm a closet resort changer. For our upcoming March trip, we started at AKL. I then decided to change to GF, MKV since we had never stayed there and I wanted to be on the monorail. After looking at pictures from the MKV rooms at CR, I wanted to check for MKV club rooms there, but was able to talk myself out of that because I read that their pool is closed for renovations. I'm 95% sure I'm going to stick with our reservation as it stands currently.

Historically I will resort shop 20 different options before booking. I try to get my resort changivitis out of my system before I actually book, although it doesn't always work out that way.
