Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

I thought the Annual Pass needed to be valid even when calling for Annual Pass rates? Besides that chances are I will renew it with one of the Boardwalk Inn Club Level Cast Members if they have the system set up or I will walk to one of the Guest Relations windows at the International Gateway and do it there, because I know the Annual Pass must be valid when you check-in for an Annual Pass rate. Finally from Canada it's a long distance call to the Disney Reservations Center and we hate their system until you actually speak with a Cast Member, so that only adds the total cost of that phone call.

As silly as it is you don't need a valid AP to book the AP rate so anyone can call and price it out, but to look online you need to log in. :confused3 I totally forgot their number is long distance. Things Americans take for granted! I hope you're able to get what you want though!!!

We are happy with the Beach Club and I am sure we will have a great time staying there. I just needed to know one last time if the Atrium Club floor was still sold out for the dates we are staying at the Beach Club.

My gramma is not being fair! I asked if she had a budget because if we end up with staying club level, it will cost us a little over $1700 and will be about $850 per person if we split it. It will be $200 less if we get a Tower MKV, which you guys know I am hoping for. She says it's fine if I want to pay for my share, but then she will pay for food and other expenses. :guilty: We will talk about this in person, but I don't think she realizes how guilty I feel if she is treating me to something so expensive, even if she can afford it easily. :guilty:

Though she did tell me today that she loved that I was planning everything and that she didn't have to worry about it. :rotfl: I love her so much.

I'm not a Gramma (yet thank goodness:laughing:), but as a Mommy, can I just say "Let her do this for you". You are a wonderful granddaughter for wanting to pay your share, but it sounds like this is something special she wants to do for you. You sound like a hard working granddaughter that she is proud of. Let her know how you feel, but remember this is also her chance to vacation with you as well. So it's like a gift for both of you. I hope one day I can do the same for my grandkids:goodvibes

I think you said that perfectly, pas130:thumbsup2, and I like your ticker's "summer suite";)

My mother said the same thing! She said just to let her do what she wants because she enjoys doing it. My mom freaked out when I told her how much the room costs. I told her my gramma didn't want to stay at the resort we stayed at 11 years ago because it had a cat walk. Meaning, deluxe only. :rotfl: I told my mom I already paid for the one night deposit and she said that I should just pay for that and then my gramma will pick up the rest of the bill and to let my gramma pay for whatever she wants. I will still have my gift cards just in case I can try to be sneaky and pay for some of my own food.

My gramma told me she is the envy of her friends because I asked her to go to Disney World with me. It sounds like not many grandchildren would ask their grandparents to go to the happiest place on earth with them or to places in general. Grandparents can be cool! I'm just very grateful I have grandparents who like to travel and do fun things.

My gramma loves to go to Vegas and she is 77 years old! When my brother told her that our other brother is going to bowl in a tournament in Vegas, she was so excited and asked about when it was and was just thrilled. My gramma and I are going to go play the slot machines. :rotfl:

And thank you for such kind words. It makes me feel good about myself. A lot of people think bad of me because I'm not in college anymore, (I just haven't decided what exactly I want to do with my life, but I think I figured it out) but I'm glad there are people who think I'm a good person. I love you guys. :grouphug:

In other news! My Mickey Hip Pack from Disney Movie Rewards came in today! My mom made fun of me, but I think it's awesome! I can't wait to wear it and not worry about my purse (and losing it)!

I loveeeee my granny! She's one of my best friends and luckily she only lives 2 houses away from me. Grannys rock! I wish she would come to Disney with me, but she won't travel that far from home anymore. She's in her 80's now and can't get around as well.

I think what your grandma wants to do for you is coming from her heart and she is looking forward to having special time with you. I understand where you're coming from, but I think you need to accept her generosity. In turn you can do the planning to make the trip an extra special one for you both.

That's so nice you live close to her! My mom's mom lives 5 hours from us so I don't get to see her often. Basically only for Thanksgiving and Christmas. :sad1: My gramma who is going to WDW with me lives about 40 minutes away so that's not too bad.

I will accept it, but that won't stop me from feeling guilty. :guilty: Besides, I wouldn't be able to afford paying for my share of the resort, food and souvenirs because the resort costs so much. I am more than willing to do the planning. She even said she was glad that I was doing it so she didn't have to worry about anything. :rotfl: We email each other back and forth. We haven't emailed much in the last couple of weeks because we have discussed basically everything, but I email her with any updates.

I decided to also cut out the tea party because we aren't going to be at WDW for very long and I want to get more park time in. I'm still going to do Fantasia Gardens mini-golf when we arrive so we can get that out of the way and I think MK will be busy because it's an evening EMH day and I want to go later in the day when it gets less crowded.

I think that's great! Your Mom gave you some sound advice.

And don't worry about the college thing. It took me years to figure out what I wanted to go to college for, and years to get around to finishing up - so keep your chin up and remember you aren't wasting your money by waiting until you're sure. :goodvibes

I love that you got a hip pack for Disney! Too cool! :cool1:

 Thanks! My mom graduated from college last May and just recently got a job so if my mom can do it then so can I! :) My mom told me if I really want to work at Disney I should go for something like hotel management or something like that. Though I do want to get a degree in Earth Science and do stuff with dinosaurs and ancient Egypt/Rome/Greece. Though my dream job is to be Alice. :cloud9:

The hip pack is so adorable! It looks like this: http://www.disneymovierewards.go.com/rewards/mickey-hip-pack It will be so much easier not having to carry a purse on my shoulder and having to lift a strap that's fallen over all the time. I will look like a total tourist, but it will be easier on me. :)

I had a horrible night at work last night, but my summer plans are going to get me through....So TIA for cheering me up I love you guys:grouphug:

LillianGracey I second kaffinito on the college thing. It is a waste of $$ until you know what you want to do. I have been a nurse for 13 years, and I still want to be Snow White when I grow up:lovestruc Don't beat yourself up, you are working and actively trying to figure out what you want to do. My DS 19 is going through the same thing. He's working, healthy, and happy and I couldn't ask for anything more. And remember, you're going to the CR:banana: Too cute with the hip pack. I miss both my Grammas terribly, enjoy every moment with yours-life is short and unpredictable.

WDWKOOK Thanks for noticing the ticker, I can't wait:cool1: I got a postcard from Disney with a link to my own little vacation webpage, it inspired me.

 You're so sweet, Hannah. When the time is right, we all know you'll make a decision that's best for you.

Now, it sounds like your situation might be the perfect opportunity to work at WDW:hyper:. They have a college program where you have to be "enrolled" in college, but I don't know what their definition of "enrolled" is. Maybe if you take just one class, you could intern with them:confused3. Here's a link to more info:

And, here's another link to internships:

I love your fanny pack. I frequently carry a fanny pack on vacation. I never want to be encumbered with a purse when I'm going on rides. I can carry everything we need in them. Here's a photo of my "collection," LOL:

I haven't used the Vera Bradley one yet, but my DD12 approved it and said it was much better than the other two. Kids...

I have an idea:idea:. Since you want to do something for Gramma to show your appreciation, have you thought about pre-purchasing, at a discount, a Photopass CD? Both of you can get photographed as much as you want all over WDW (and some resorts) and then you can give the CD to Gramma as a thank-you keepsake. Here's a link to more info:

Use code: CDMARSAVE to save 10% on your CD pre-order.

, knowing that you're an ER nurse, I can only imagine what you go through. I don't know how you do it, but I am so grateful that there are talented, dedicated and patient people like you out there who work at all hours of the night to help make our lives better. Thank you for doing what I never could. Nurses are amazing! (Especially ones with 7 children;)).

Kaffinito: You're leaving so soon:thumbsup2. Are you going to be doing a live report and checking-in from time to time?

Ok my fellow resort changers just wondering who else has the special offers page of the WDW website booked marked on their computers as one of their favorite websites, because I can admit it's booked marked on my computer.

pas130 I hope everything is alright. We're all here for you if you need us. :grouphug:

:thumbsup2 Ditto!

Oooh! Great advice! That would be a nice opportunity. :goodvibes

Love VB bags all over but would die for that cute Mickey bag! :yay:

And yes, leaving very soon now! :cool1: Getting totally freaked out and nervous for my first flight in over 23 years. :scared1:  :scared1:

I'm pretty sure the plane won't crash, but just wish there were four engines on the plane instead of two. :rolleyes1

I am going to do LTR and a TR too. Especially about the V&A dinner and the premium seating at TL :goodvibes

Bookmarked and one of the tabs that always comes up when I start Firefox. :)

Yes indeedy, I do, too. But, I thought you said you weren't going to peak at that page anymore:scratchin

How many bookmarks do you guys have in your "Disney" folder on your bookmarks bar? I just counted and I have over 100. It bothers me though that with Macs when you add a new bookmark, it doesn't automatically alphabetize it, it sends it to the bottom. There's a tedious way to alphabetize bookmarks on Macs which I end-up periodically doing when I can't stand anymore Disney bookmarks being un-alphabetized!

I love each and every one of you! You are the nicest people ever! :grouphug:

@pas130: Thanks for the reassurance! I hope your son figure out what he wants to do! I'm so glad you are supporting him. He sounds like a very good son. :)

@WDWKOOK: Thanks for the links! I will take a look into those! I also love the photopass idea! That would be a great keepsake!

You guys are the best! :grouphug:

Thanks everyone for the love and support:grouphug: I think that's why I love Disney so much, it's a happy place. I am very grateful that I can have the skills to help people, but every once in awhile I get a case that hits home that really gets to me. After 11 hours of sleep last night (thanks to a VERY understanding DH and kids who tucked me in at 730pm) I am good to go!

Again, I love you all (disneydreamin247 kaffinito and WDWKOOK thank you so much, really I needed the kind words):lovestruc You ladies are the best!!! Now back to the planning.....I am obsessing over kaffinito's trip as she is next to go! And now I am inspired to get a fanny pack, I can coordinate with my VB tote:thumbsup2

CRFan I might as well make the Special offers Page my Home Page:lmao:

pas130 I'm so happy you're feeling better! Now back to our scheduled planning..er, programming! :rotfl:

I'm getting ready to go to DS' IEP this morning. I am so not looking forward to this meeting, especially on an hour and a half of sleep. :sad2:

OH! I swapped GF Cafe for 1900 PF dinner and added a 1900 PF breakfast for checkout day. I rationalized it with both meals have different characters and since it is in our resort we may as well experience both. We're doing the same thing with 'Ohana (although DS would have me cancel the breakfast there and plan another dinner because he's obsessed!).

And lastly please excuse any typos and my sometimes ridiculous spacing. I'm typing one handed.
