Well, we are taking another teen with us to WDW. DS's have a friend who has divorced parents and he was kind of in limbo about what he was doing over Christmas so the invited him along.

Luckily he is a great kid. He will actually keep my kids from fighting and he is sooo anxious to go.

We had two rooms at POFQ our first 3 nights but one room at YC the last 5 nights. The travel agent I am using was able to get us 2 rooms at CB for all 8 nights at the same code rate we were booked under. It will end up being within $10.00 of the same price. I have a bunch of PS's to change and stuff like that. I really wanted to stay at YC this trip and am somewhat disappointed but this kid will get to have a "family" holiday so I guess it is worth it. I will let you know.

Please assure me I will like CB. I am deluxe spoiled and my favorite is WL. The price they wanted for two rooms per night was $960. :earseek:

I was so touched by your post...When my parents were divorced I had a friend whose mother pretty much adopted me:D and I still call her mom today. I think the fact that you are taking this teenager with you is so precious and every bit what Christmas is all about. I think you will have a lovely time at CBR because you deserve to and because you obviously have a high priority placed on the happiness of those you love. With an attitude like that, how could you not have a great time? Every time you look into that boy's face and see him smiling and having a good time you will know you did the right thing. That will mean far more to you than a few nights at the Yacht club. Your unselfishness will bless him more than you may ever know...May your vacation be full of extra pixie dust!:D

My niece and nephew are going through the same thing. We took them to ASSp last month and they had so much fun. If we didn't need two rooms we could have stayed deluxe. It was such a fun trip!!!! How old are the other kids? With an extra teen along, maybe you and DH will be able to have some private kid-free time!!!CBR is so beautiful. You will LOVE it! The rooms are large and have so many amenities it feel very "deluxe".

I've never stayed there, but we almost did this Fall. I'm sure it will be near the top of our list soon! It looks like a great resort! I like that the rooms have a divider curtain separating the sinks from the bed area.

I think it's wonderful that you're taking along your son's friend and giving him the kind of holiday he can't have at home. Have a wonderful trip!

That is SO nice of you to take the boy to WDW with you. I love CBR. I've stayed there twice and once at the Grand Floridian. I hope you do end up liking CBR. Take a look at the pics on my web sites, maybe that'll make you feel a little better about this resort. :)

RNMOM, have a magical vacation and take lots & lots of photos. Make sure to get at least one group shot in a theme park. And don't forget to get a second copy of that photo for your guest.

By the way, I love the CBR. Enjoy!

DH and I go there almost every trip, just to get something to eat and walk around and enjoy the grounds and the quiet atmosphere. I stayed there once and enjoyed it very much. Hope your Christmas is as magical as what you're trying to do for this very fortunate kid.

Thank you all for the warm thoughts. I really didn't mean to imply we are doing something noble. He is a great kid, just kinda on his own a lot. He is like an 8 yr old when he talks about the trip.

Janet, thanks for the photo reminder. I hadn't thought about that.

Seaspray, glad you posted, yours was the site I wanted to look over too.

Have a great holiday everyone. I think mine is going to be extra special this year.

I think you will really enjoy it! Please have a wonderful vacation and know that you are really and truly doing something special for the boy but also for your kids because they can see what great parents they have! Happy holidays!

I don't know about CB but just wanted to post that you are very kind to bring your DS's friend to WDW with you! Hope you have a magical time!

That's really kind of you. I hope it will work out. The good news is you will have your own room for the entire time. And where you are staying is nice too. You will have a good time.
Blessings this Christmas in what you are doing.

I read your first post and I was wondering what was happening.

I think it is so wonderful what you are doing. It may put a crimp in your plans, but he may really need this "family" trip!:D

We really liked CBR. The rooms are large and great theming. There is a lot of storage space.

Have a magical trip!

You are a true angel!:D

You will love CBR and the rooms are larger than most.

Herc.

RNMOM,

You'll love CBR. I stayed in Trinadad North and loved it. The rooms were renovated just 1-2 years ago and the OPR (and maybe the main pool?) is currently being renovated. It sounds like you'll be one of the first guests to enjoy it! When are you checking in? I was supposed to be there on 12/24, but got one of the CBR -> Poly upgrades since they were not sure that the resort would be open.

Although you are giving up the YC, look on the bright side ... you're gaining 2 bathrooms for the entire stay :). You'll also only have to buy a mug for one resort :) :).
