Resort Change by Disney

From information on Disney's website, I think it was in the know before you go section somewhere, that if you are moved you cannot change. If they move you no charge, if you change yourself then there is a fee depending on what the change is.

Merry_nbright - were you booked through a group space, based on the information you posted, the screen shot, it seems like it and maybe why you were moved already.

It may save the CMs a great deal of time if they just change resorts and email the updates. They will just have to deal with the people who do not like their move instead of everyone that will be is moved.

This makes sense, especially if they are giving an option, which is what is reported. Take it or cancel, they should move you, notify and if you don't like it you can cancel. Def would save time.

I was thinking about cancelling after the SAB might not be open. Glad I didn't. We have a trip not even 2 weeks after labor day already at WL but for this price I might not even go to the parks. Maybe we can finally do the Twighlight Feast room service if its available.

Room Service is the BEST! One of our favorite things. My mom and I are only doing half a day at park and then back to enjoy.

So I guess this means Poly (not just DVC side) will be open in September. I'm surprised they changed it so early its still 2 and 1/2 months away. But I will take it. The rack rate is $691 for 1 night. I'm still in shock.

It is being reported resort info emails may come out before Monday.

I see where it says Resort emails will be going out before Monday. Do we know what resorts are going to be open and how far out they will be rebooking people? Is it still just for July or through fall?

We have a stay at GF for two of our nights the first week of August and haven’t heard or seen anything yet. We also have Riviera, AoA, Poly and BWI that week so there is a lot up in there but will comment when/if we hear anything about any of these. I’m sure our Riviera stay is fine. But all the others are up in the air I suppose.

I have a feeling those that were moved booked through a TA who blocked group space, maybe they are doing those first. A guess on my part but based on the screen shot provided on the previous page what it seems like.

I'm booked in August for AoA. If we do get moved, I'm only nervous about the room type-- we specifically chose AoA because of the family suites, and having to share a single space with a toddler that's ready for bed at 7 would be rough.

Somebody else in late August has already reported being moved to the POLY from BC with no notice.

You might want to check your resort reservations! I just logged into MDE and our Beach Club reservation for check in on Aug 26th has been changed to Poly...
No call, no email, nothing...

Date: September 3-7
Original Resort: Beach club
New Resort: Polynesian

For those of you that got moved to the Poly, does your reservation or room type say Poly Villas? I check-in on July 20th and I'm hoping the cash side of the Poly is open then and if your rooms don't say villa you're going to give me some hope. You all check-in later than me but still, fingers crossed.

I'm 99.9% sure they are going to move people for free not just out-right cancel because the resort you chose isn't open.
