Resort Change by Disney

we are also needing our park hopper to change to a base ticket. We are at 49 days and counting! We are so excited (desperately need to get away from the house) and are ready to take all precautions, it’s just so unusual to have so much uncertainty this close to a trip!
Same here! We have had this vacation booked since last year on a bounceback.

Wonder if they were getting bombarded with calls.
I'm sure this was the case. We have a Poly reservation booked for 8/7....was one thing through all this garbage we had to look forward to....now that's gone....every day just more bad news...what will tomorrow bring?

It appears, GF resort-side isn't opening until September 21 when those teams will either be gone or moved to CSR (if they move further into the finals process). It's very easy to funnel the VGF guests into the main building without breaking a GF resort-side bubble. The teams will have to access the courtyard pool - I don't see how you do this if you let regular guests into the other GF resort buildings prior to those teams leaving that resort.

I called yesterday about my July 18 stay at GF (not GFV) and the CM put me on hold to check with guest services about where I’d be relocated. She came back and said that guest services told her that the NBA wasn’t taking over the entire GF and that the plan was for me to stay at GF. I guess I’ll find out soon enough if that was accurate info 🤷‍♀️

Finally received a call from Disney regarding my BC reservation for July 5-12. They asked if I wanted to move to another resort, modify or cancel. I cancelled.
We have a BC reservation about two weeks after that. Did they give you a choice of other resort(s) or did they just say you can go to x resort, modify, or cancel? Sorry you had to cancel. :(

She just said “would you like to be moved to another resort, modify dates or cancel”. Not sure if she would have given me a choice. Thankfully, we’ve been to Disney and the BC more than a few times. I feel bad for people who were going for the first time. What a bummer canceling will be.

Just now they called? On a Sunday?

Actually, they can not legally move any reservation booked on points from VGF to the main building. It would violate the DVC contract.

I think you misinterpreted my post. When I said they could "funnel" VGF guests into the main building I meant literally allowing VGF guests to enter the main building to access amenities that will be open (restaurants, shops, monorail) without breaking the NBA bubble. I did not mean "funnel" as in "move" VGF guests into RPC rooms or any other GF-resort side room. I was responding to PP who thought GF would open to WDTC cash guests while the NBA is there and I, personally, don't see that happening (especially if that resort list from the HUB turns out to be more than rumor and GF opens on Sept. 21).

LOl! Yup...totally misread your point!

What would the approximate cost increase going from a POP reservation to a DVC reservation if required to upgrade? I currently have a reservation starting on July 11th at POP.
If you haven't changed dates and Disney move you as I understand it's nothing.

Booked for POFQ for opening week. Any educated guesses, where I’ll be booked at tomorrow?

Someone just posted after park opening move and she was told she would have to pay for the move. It would be a special rate . Same dates , her resort was YC . That’s probably why people are posting on the Rumor and News thread Val/Mods will be very unhappy soon . I am at YC 7/31-8/8 and my special rate better be zero . I am already paying deluxe rates . This is not looking promising.

From my TA, this was just posted on the Disney TA site (seems the HUB info was correct):

In addition, we currently plan to open the following resort hotels to booked Guests on the following dates. Please note, that given the fluidity of the current environment, these dates are subject to change and Guests’ reservations could still be modified to other resort hotels if needed.
  • July 10 – Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo House, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • July 29 – Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
  • Aug. 12 – Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
  • Aug. 24 – Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts
  • Sept. 21 – Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
  • Oct. 1 – Disney’s BoardWalk Resort
  • Oct. 14 – Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
Guests with current reservations at impacted Disney Resort hotels can request help with modifying their reservation starting Monday June 22. Reservations for stays in 2021 will begin booking on Wednesday, June 24. Only Guests with a valid theme park ticket or Annual Pass will be able to access the Disney Park Pass reservation system.

Given the current situation, there are some resort hotels and other areas that are not, as of this time, being scheduled for reopening yet. We will continue to evaluate the situation and reopen more locations when the environment is right to do so.
