Okay so i have a few questions... (well maybe more than a few  )

Ill be staying at All star sports in Sept, so ill be using the Disney buses. So my questions are:

-I know the buses are schedulaed to run 1hr prior to park opening so if MK opens at 9am does that mean the buses "should" be outside of the resorts at 8am? or is that when they leave for the resorts?

-How long does it take from the furthest building in Sports to get to the bus area. Ive read it could take up to 10 min walk to the bus stop? what about the closest building? im staying in a stadard room but im calling to request the closest building.

-And how long does it take from Sports to MK?

-I called Disney and told me the Disney buses take you straight to the gates and you dont have to get on the monorail?... :confused3 im really confues about that..... because i thought all buses whether Disney owned or not droped you off at the drop area... and you had to get the ferry or monorail.

-Last question... :cool1: if i dont get dropped off at the loading area how long will it take me once i get off the bus to get to the actual gates. (im trying to make it for the rope drop. ive never seen it before :scared1: )

Thanks DISers!!!!!:thumbsup2

I can only help with the last two questions.

Their is a special bus loading/unloading area very close to the MK gates for Disney operated buses.
It's maybe a two minute walk to the bag check and gates.

Hi there. I have stayed in All Star Sports a couple of times so can answer your questions:

- Buses are scheduled to run approximately one hour prior to park opening from all Disney Resorts. This is to allow guests time to attend early dining reservations or other pre-booked (extra $$) experiences.

- All Star Sports is quite a large resort and I would say that it could take around 10 minutes to walk from the furthest building to the bus stop. I can recall staying in building "Touchdown 10" on my last stay and the walk to the bus stop was less than 5 minutes.

-All Star Sports is a good way away from MK and you might find yourself on the bus for 30 minutes, although this is likely to be less first thing in the morning.

- And the really good news is that all Disney Resorts have buses to drop guests off right outside the MK entrance. No ferry or monorail from the transportation and ticket centre(r) (I'm British and spell centre differently ;)) to worry about. It should take you around 5 minutes to walk from the buses to the park entrance.

-And please do make it to the opening ceremony of MK, it gets you into a right happy mood....anyway the YouTube link below doesn't really do it justice, but as you can see, it's really not that busy.

Have an awesome time.

(Yesteryear's semantics) If you have a scheduled breakfast requiring a bus earlier than one hour before park opening, special "character" buses are run earlier from the resorts. (I don't know where the term "character" comes from; it might be due to words such as "STICH" or "MINNIE" on the destination sign.)

(Today's semantics) Buses start running from (correction) resorts to parks beginning around 6:30 AM although not as frequently as every 20 minutes at first.

All Star Sports and All Star Movies are quite wide and shallow so the walk from the furthest building to the bus stop is not that great. All Star Music is narrow and deep so the worst case walk is longer.

I'll try to clear up some misinformation here.

-I know the buses are schedulaed to run 1hr prior to park opening so if MK opens at 9am does that mean the buses "should" be outside of the resorts at 8am? or is that when they leave for the resorts?

bus service starts at 6:30 every single morning to all the parks. Buses will run about every 30 minutes until about an hour before park opening, when it will be more like every 20 minutes.

-How long does it take from the furthest building in Sports to get to the bus area. Ive read it could take up to 10 min walk to the bus stop? what about the closest building? im staying in a stadard room but im calling to request the closest building.

That's probably about right. It's not far.

-And how long does it take from Sports to MK?

The actual time on the bus is around 15 minutes.

-I called Disney and told me the Disney buses take you straight to the gates and you dont have to get on the monorail?... :confused3 im really confues about that..... because i thought all buses whether Disney owned or not droped you off at the drop area... and you had to get the ferry or monorail.

You will be dropped off near the gates. No ferry or monorail required. That's why many people recommend taking the bus to MK, even if you have a car.

-Last question... :cool1: if i dont get dropped off at the loading area how long will it take me once i get off the bus to get to the actual gates. (im trying to make it for the rope drop. ive never seen it before :scared1: )

From the drop off area it'll be about 5 to 10 minutes, depending on the bag check line. I find that leaving the resort 1 hour before park opening is ideal.
