Resort Bus Stops

:)I have a question concerning the bus stops at all the moderate resorts. We plan to be there from Aug 4-11, this will be our longest stay ever. We typically only get a couple of days here and there because of our schedules. We have stayed at POP and PORFQ, I loved the FQ, but hated the bus stop. There was no organization and people pushing and shoving just got on my last nerve. I like POP's bus stops because they are roped off and have organiziation to it. Are all the moderates bus stops like this, or do the others have more organized areas?

Thanks, any information will be helpful.

All of the moderate and deluxe resort bus loading areas that I have used are set up the same as at POFQ. Only the value resorts have the roped queuing areas at the bus stops.

PP is correct. The values are the only resorts that have the roped off bus lines. I've never minded the setup of the bus stops at the mods and deluxes. I like being able to take a seat while waiting for the bus instead of being roped in like cattle. POFQ was one of my favorites because being a smaller resort, having just one bus stop, and almost always being picked up before POR, there was no need to worry about being at the front of the line for boarding the bus. There were always plenty of seats available and I never had to stand.

sorry you had a bad experience - if you look it is generally the teens that are the trouble makers - just looking directly at them - will generally stop it.

most resort guests are better behaved than that - so hoping it won't happen to you again. but if it does complaint to security and the front desk when you returned so they will have someone there the next day to make sure it does not happen. (they can and will make troublemakers leave)

remember one lady who wanted to sit down for the buses but still wanted everyone else to wait for her to get on the bus first - that is totalled unreasonable and won't happen.

what I love about Pop is the one bus stop then it goes directly to the park (or did)

all the moderates have multiple stops - POFQ then it goes to POR. CSR and CBR have about 4 to 5 stops before they can go to the theme parks.

While there is no designated queue for the bus-stops at the Mods, one thing that is good about the multiple stops at resorts is that none of the "section" stops are too crowded. When we stay at CSR there are always many more guests getting on at the stop at the main building "El Centro" and many fewer getting on at Ranchos, Cabanas, etc. Since El Centro is the last stop before heading to the parks, when we get on at the stop nearest our room, we always have a seat. And really, there's no chaos to get on the bus since there are seats available and no one will really have any advantage over another guest.

I personally don't like the bus queues at Pop and the All-Stars because they're not shaded. I understand why they have the queues, but when I'm weighing +/- of each resort, it's a - for me.

Thanks so much for the replies. Actually, just got a phone call from my husband and he has been picked to head up the Summer Music Academy this summer and it comes with a nice bonus:yay:, so will definitely be at PORFQ, but also looking to upgrade to AKL. Looks beautiful and never stayed there.

Oooh!!! Book at AKL - it's lovely there!!!

Didn't have much to say about the roped/non roped queues but noticed you will be in Disney the same dates as us! :) sadly...we went cheap are in a value - ASMu

Never had any problems getting on the bus at CSR or CBR. They have a stop for each area so you don't usually have more than 15 or so people getting on the bus at once. You have alot more chaos at the POR/POFQ with people from the whole resort trying to board at one stop.

Stayed many times at POR and once a while ago at POFQ and never had the experience that you described. I would like to think it was an isolated instance and won't happen again! :goodvibes

We were not a fan of the ropes at the value resorts...it just felt like one more line for us before we even stepped foot in the park! But it all comes down to personal preference I suppose!

I'm not sure when you stayed, but I used to work as a Resort Bus greeter, and one of the places I would drop off my cast members was POR/FQ. If they still deploy them there, they should be there to answer any questions you may have and make sure everyone gets on respectively! I'm sorry you did not have a pleasant experience the first time!:wizard:

One thing that's a BIG advantage at the mods and deluxe bus stops is that they are covered. At the values, you have the queues but you are often in strong sunlight waiting for the bus. I've often wondered why all resorts were not built with a covered bus stop. In FL, that sun is HOT! I'll be curious to see if AoA's bus stops are queued and/or covered.

At POR, we very quickly learned that the South Depot was by far the most crowded stop. If you're staying there and don't like the crowded waiting area, go to any other bus stop. FQ has just one stop, so everyone uses it. We stayed there in August when it was crowded, but the bus stops weren't too bad.

I have to say that when we stayed at CBR last year (non roped bus stops), we found that people would not respect order when boarding the bus stop either. There were many times that my family of four would be at the stop first and people would push ahead of us to get on the bus. It was quite irritating that people don't have better sense. We remember wondering why there were no ropes...

I prefer the non-roped stops but we also find that the stops at the mods and deluxes are not nearly as crowded as the values so it has never been an issue
