Resort Bus or Drive self?

I was a big proponent of the WDW transportation system and thought it worked great....until we rented a car for the first time. I loved actually having our own car at the end of the day and I felt like it was much faster to get anyone and not as much of a hassle as I feared. I can't imagine relying on WDW transportation now that we have been spoiled. We even drive to the MK and it does not seem to take us that much longer especially if we would have had to wait for a bus.

I think it depends on what park you are going to on any given day and when you plan on leaving that park.

MK, take WDW transportation, Always!

Epcot, either or. We walk from Y/B Club

MGM, either or. Again, we walk, especially at night.

AK, take your car, always! Especially if you plan on eating at Rainforest when the park closes. It took us 2 hours to get back to the Y/B Club one night.

Water Parks, take your car. Nothing worse than sitting on a freezing bus with wet hair.

Since we flew in and have terrible senses of direction, we preferred WDW transportation to paying for a rental car and searching for that car in the parking lot. We never waited long and always had a seat.

The year before last we stayed off-site and lost the car in the parking lot a couple of times. Things I learned from that trip: Take note of your parking lot info and don't wear cute shoes that will tear up your feet.

Last year we saved on rental car costs and band-aids.

We use WDW transportation 100% now. (we drove everywhere the first time...ended up in downtown Orlando instead of MK ).

For us, WDW tranportation is the best. No stress w/ traffic, directions (driver (that would be DH ) not following directions of his DW (that would be me )), parking, finding said car after a long exhausting day of magic, etc, etc, etc.

We have done both - like many others.

I would use Dis transportation if you do not have children. BUT if you have kids - use your own car. Faster and more comfortable for the little ones!
