Resort Bars

When I want to watch a game at a public venue, I like to be part of a crowd who also are watching. With this in mind, I'll start with a couple NOT to try:

The ESPN Club (Boardwalk) is closed. (This would have been my first recommendation.)

The Boardwalk also has Big River Grille, but I have not been inside since they reopened so I cannot say if their tv's are showing games.

Rix Sports Bar (Coronado Springs) keeps the sound off of the games it's broadcasting, ruining the experience (IMO). Kinda crazy really. Despite a number of people there to cheer on their teams, it was eerily quiet that last time I was there. Just not right for a "sports bar".

Now, let's look at some others.

City Works (Disney Springs) has many tv's and an extensive collection of beers. But it gets crowded so make a reservation early.

The Yacht & Beach Club have a bar with a few tv's, but it also tends to be quiet.

Geyser Point (Wilderness Lodge) is outside. It's a restaurant and bar. We enjoy relaxing there but have never watched a game there. Not sure it's a good place for someone who really wants to watch.

Nothing I can think of that's worth going to at a Monorail Resort. The bar at the Contemporary might be the best of the three but (I think) it has only one tv.

I cannot think of anything that's worth going to at Caribbean Beach Resort or Animal Kingdom Lodge, at least to watch a game.

At the moment, I'm not sure if there is any venue better at Disney Springs that City Works.

Wow, thanks for that response. We have a City Works here in the Philly suburbs and was considering that as an option. Once I know the schedule then we will make reservations!

Do you know if there is actual seating at any of the pool bars now? Or is it just more of a grab and go and you can’t sit at the bars?

The Drop Off pool bar at Art of Animation put on the Browns game for us. I wouldn’t recommend going out of your way for that particular bar but might be a good option if you’re at Pop!

We once watched some March Madness games in the lounge at bluezoo at the Dolphin. I can't remember if the sound was on, however. It was really fun and the food and drinks there are excellent.

Edited to add: Just wanted to offer my condolences for the Bucks-Sixers game yesterday . . .

The pool bar at the Boardwalk definitely has a big screen TV. Plenty were sitting there when we stayed there in December.

We were at Wilderness Lodge in March. The closest thing they have to a pool bar is Geyser Point, which is outdoors, has a bar, and several several tv's.

I also remember there being tv's at the Grand Floridian and Beach Club pool bars, although I didn't pay much attention to either.

However, pool hopping is not allowed. You need to be staying at the hotel to use their pools, and most pool bars are behind a gate.

Those two games in Milwaukee were ugly. But with no Ben and Jo that’s what this team looks like

That’s what I was afraid of. I guess it’s city works. I’ll check out art of animation as well. I think that pool bar is outside of the barricaded pool area.

I don't think you can use the pool at AOA if you are not a guest there. And, if I remember correctly, Pop Century and AOA are two separate resorts.

There are TVs at Petals (the bar at POP) and in September they were allowing a few guests to sit at the bar. There are also a few tables close to the bar that you likely can see the TVs from. I'll be at POP next week and can check if there is still seating at the bar.

Thanks! I was just going to walk over and check it
Out. No intent on the pool just the pool bar 🍺!

Thanks for that. If you can see if there are seats at the bar there and post a reply, that would be great! Have a great vacation!

I would go City Works hands down.

With ESPN Club closed and rumored not to reopen,City Works is now the Go-to place on-property to watch Sports.

Petals and The Drop Off are not currently allowing seating at the Bar and the tables are too far away to allow a good look at the TVs,especially at Petals where the TVs are much smaller than at The Drop Off.

I don't think there is a "hopping" restriction on the pool bars, just the pools.

So if your only intention is to go drinking at a pool bar, then I think you should be ok.

I have watched the NY Jets lose at the bar in the hotel we stay at. There are always parents that was to catch a game. Not to mention I don't have to travel far to get back to the room.

Got in yesterday. No seats at the bar right now, sorry. It’s strange that we could sit there in September but not now.
