I'm almost ready to commit to DVC. Can anyone tell me how hard it will be to get these resorts during these time frames if they aren't my home resort? I'm pretty flexible with my dates, but I know I want to try the other resorts at some point.

Studio or 1 Bedroom

Wilderness Lodge in Early December or Early Jan?

Beach Club Villas or Boardwalk Villas in May?

Vero Beach in May?

I'm looking to buy into Saratoga Springs or Old Key West. From what I can tell, I'll be fine to have Old Key West or SSR to fall back on, but I just wanted to know what my chances are for getting the other resorts.

Thanks in advance.

If you can always be flexible with your dates and can handle using the waitlist, you will be able to try other DVC resorts within the 7 month priority.

Some dates are more popular (early December), but anything is possible. In this case, I'd suggest making a reservation at your home resort and then try to switch resorts at 7 months.

Enjoy!

Like Doc said, being flexible and willing to go through the waitlist from time to time should allow you to get most things you want.

I think the toughest one you have listed is VWL in early December. That's a tough time period for DVC with the low points, holiday decorations, etc. Add to that the fact that VWL is the smallest DVC resort and probably the best decorated at Christmas (okay that's just opinion) and that might be one that even the wait list won't work on.

But in general, you should have ability to move around as we have. And you've already got the right attitude...if you're "stuck" with SSR or OKW during those times...well, that's not too shabby, is it? :)

None of those should be a problem, other than possibly VWL Dec, if you are able to book exactly at 11 months out.
