Resort AP discount

So, if at the last minute the resorts offer a good deal can I book without the AP (I planned on getting them when we get there) and then use it upon check out?

I'm pretty sure we'll stay put as the kids have already seen hojo's pool area but IF it's a price I can't pass up I was just wondering!

You can book AP rates over the phone without it in hand, but must show your AP at check-in. My friend just did this and had to get her AP at the ticket booth before she checked into the PP. Good luck!

Actually it varies...there is a Hotel Rate Availability calendar on the AP site. For instance this week at PP it's $149 during the week, but that's because it's low season. It constantly gets updated.

If you don't have the AP in hand yet, you can buy one at any of the three resort hotels at the time of check in. There's no need to go out of your way to buy one at a ticket booth before getting to the hotel.

I would suggest booking a special AP rate prior to check in if its available. For the immediate future PP is $149, DLH $159, and GCH at $228. I doubt that they will honor a special AP rate at check out if you have booked under a different rate at check in.

Just sign up for everything on the Disney website. No one knows how they compile the list of "chosen ones". I've yet to receive one.

If you do find that a good AP rate becomes available, make sure to cancel hoJo as soon as possible. And unless you're willing to pay the penalty of canceling too late, just STOP looking for AP rates after the penalty-free cancelation period is over.


AP discount is always 10% off rack rate. Sometimes they have special deals, like it seems they do right now, where things are 149 and the like (don't forget to include the 13.80 resort fee each night of your stay!). Many are finding that the PIN codes, or just the advertised deals for normal people are better than the AP rates, depending on when they are going.


FWIW, my AP expired last November, but I can still log in to my disneyland.com account and access the AP info...so OP if you used to have an AP, you might be able to do that too.
