Resort and Dates Dilemma

So my daughter and I were planning on going to WDW 11/29-12/4 and staying at AoA. I went to book the room today and it says it isn't available. I decided to look at other dates for that resort and found 11/15-11/20 is available. We are really wanting to see all the Christmas decorations since we haven't been since 2007. My daughter wants to stay at AoA but I'm sure wouldn't care if we had to pick another resort.

I guess my question is, what is the week before Thanksgiving like or is the week after better? Would you be willing to switch resorts even though you had your heart set on a certain one?

Personally, I would probably choose the week after Thanksgiving. I never like to celebrate Christmas, even in Spirit before Thanksgiving, so I would avoid a holiday trip to see the decorations until after. I also would change resorts, but if you really have your heart set on a certain resort, then change the dates and stay there. It all comes down to what matters most, dates or resorts. I have seen the resort decorations before Thanksgiving and they are lovely.

We went the last full week before Thanksgiving in 2012. The crowds were fine. By the middle of the week the resorts we stayed at (AKL, WL) were decorated and MK was decorated, I think, early in the week.

we went mid November 2009 and parks were completely decorated and resorts were in progress. we saw Osborne Lights on day of arrival and it was awesome! (think it just opened that day)

Later in the month rest probably were completed....

I would stick with dates

Expedia UK shows availability 11/29-12/4 about $646 for mermaid room ... $1500 for the suites ... There's a thread about Expedia UK elsewhere on disboards ...

We went ahead and decided on sticking with our original dates and booked our stay at POP.
