Resort airline check-in

I just noticed the Disney website says all members need to be present to use the resort airline check-in. Is this new? The last 2 years my husband was able to go and do it and get boarding passes for all 4 members of our family.

Just wondering if in practice, they don't really care if everyone comes. Or if I should change my plans this year and make sure all 4 of us freckles down to turn in luggage and get boarding passes.

I only care bc we will have to go do it early :)

All guests need to be there with legal photo ID and ticket info. (Same situation as checking in at an airport before flight.)

If they allowed otherwise, that is a violation.

Wow...ok, thanks!!! I assume my 2 minor children (age 5 and 6) don't need an ID?

Here at our local airport (ATX) my wife has always been able to check-in the entire family and get our boarding passes. Never been an issue. Not sure why it would be different at the resort.

They have always asked to see both mine and DH's IDs at check in at the airport and at the resort. I think also for DS now that he's over 18, but it's been a while since he's gone. I thought that was policy.

I'm trying to remember if I possibly sent my husband with my ID in the past...? The last 2 years he did get our boarding passes, but I didn't realize that wasn't ok! Oops!

Adults who are checking in a bag need to show ID - last trip it was my 18 year old dd and I and she left her carryon in the room with her ID. (My fault as I hadn't really explained what we were doing) Since it was SWA (2 bags free) they just checked both bags under my name instead of having her run back for her ID.
