Resort Airline Check in without DME?

Just need clarification. We were planning on using DME, but got a great rental rate, so are doing our own driving to and from airport this time. If I remember right, the RAC and DME are independent of each other. That I can still use RAC to check in our luggage and print boarding passes, even if not using DME?? TIA
