We have visited WDW many times but this is our first cruise. Its nice to plan something new!!

We didn't book land and sea because we were not sure about, if and how many days, we would do at WDW after the cruise. In fact we are still not completely sure, we are driving and the kids have off school but DH's schedule is still up in the air. We are driving so we can be more flexible.

So - I am having trouble deciding on a resort, probably Thurs - Sunday. Our favs are Poly, Dolphin and AKL as well as CBR and CRS. I am an AP holder and love when we can get the od discounts but as we know BR is only until 2/15 and we travel the following week.

On site is a must, problem is DH wants to consider something bigger. Like a 1 bedroom as he feels we will have been "cooped" up in a stateroom on a cruise for 4 days. I like that idea as IIRC they have laundry in the room and we will need it after the Cruise. He dosen't however like the cost of the 1 bdrm so its on me to get the perfect room at the perfect price, yikes!

We are a family of 4, two dd's 8 and 10 and they don't mind sharing a bed on vacation as "its worth it!"

I have been going on and on weighing the pros and cons and its getting worse. I think a moderate esp CBR with the bigger rooms will be fine and I don't think a studio gives us any additional benefit over a room. I could be wrong? Is a 1 bedroom really worth the price and will it be even more so after a cruise? Help.

Has anyone done a cruise and wanted more space or was a mod or deluxe (or even a value) a nice room after a cruise.

I will take any and all ideas and experiences - thanks in advance.

Hi - also doing my first disney cruise - first three nights at the poly, then 4 night cruise then 6 nights Saratoga Springs resort. I noticed you said you might like more room after cruise and SSR seem to have a lot of availability and deals at the moment on sites like expedia. Also, you could consider renting DVC points off a member on the dvc boards right here on this forum. But perhaps best rates may come out for your stay, just because they're not out now, doesn't mean there's not going to be any.

Oh Thanks Cinderella - I had totally forgot about Sarasota - maybe since its new and not sold out they will have a good rate.

When is your cruise and have you visited the Cruise board? They have amazing amounts of information!

Try Old Key West. I had a great AP rate there this past summer for a 2 bedroom.
Saratoga Springs is also nice and since it's new, you might have a better chance of getting an AP rate there.

Also, I've found that when i take a bunkbed room in the Wilderness Lodge, we don't feel that cramped. And i just love the WL. And their rates are usually not too bad. Especially if you can get an AP rate.
We stayed there in August for $124/night AP rate. Not bad at all.

You might also try the cabins in Fort Wilderness. I don't know if they have AP rates, but they might.

Hi TJ - cruise is 11th December for four nights. SSR looks great - am looking forward to it, and i think you may get lucky on discounts with it being new.

Yes, have checked out resorts board and am overwhelmed with info. Am a first time cruiser!

IN THE MIDDLE
The Pepper Market is either a love it or hate it place. We love it but some folks just don't care for it.

Convention resort - some guests don't like seeing other guests at work. Doesn't bother us and helps keep the buses empty. GF, Cont, BW, Y & B Club are also convention resorts.
