Can anyone give me examples of kinds of activities that occur at the resorts? Things like scavenger hunts or arts/crafts, etc? I have two young boys and wondering if there is enough to do on property to spend a day out of the theme parks? They will enjoy the pool but not more than an hour or so at a time (they are very busy, always looking for the next thing). I haven't decided which on site property we want to stay at this summer but don't mind having to travel to one that is not our "home" resort.

I'm only aware of pool games the tm's do during the day
Info on games and times are listed in your check in papers

Call the hotel and ask them the hours the pool activities are

I'm not aware of other entertainent that hotels might have
I don't have littles anymore so I'm in the dark on answering that part of your question

In the evenings they play movies near the pool. I think I remember reading that Cabana Bay (other resorts may also have) has a playground.

I wouldn't worry too much on keeping them entertained. I know when I did Disney with my nieces they were happy to have a down day to relax at the resort.

They do all types of activities. We saw Saturday at RPR the kids were doing sand art. We go so much and see so many things on different trips. The same goes for the other onsite hotels, except CB has normal resort features they can enjoy but not a staff to entertain.

Cabana bay had good kids activities on weekend afternoons, DJ by pools with kids games (been twice in October time) Bowling there is $9 each inc shoe hire weekdays 12-4pm. Evening at Cabana bay movies by pool often harry potter and firepits for smores.

There is also a sand area with games like table tennis, pool on the side where the slide is

There are also the 2 mini golf courses at Citywalk.

i Just came back from RPR. They do have an activity schedule but didn't see too many kids participating (ok,......none, lol). They had some board games out by the towel hut and my DD went and played bingo a bit with some of the staff and I did see 1 or 2 other kids playing throughout the day.
