Residence Inn Seaworld....Building works

Hi

We fly from the UK in June staying at the RI and we've just been informed that 'there's daily building work next to the Residence Inn that is visible from some rooms and the pool'

The work is scheduled for completion in Dec 05 and we go on 30 June. Disaster !

I'm not too concerned about the 'view from the room' as that's not why I travel 4,500 miles to Florida but I am concerned about potential noise in the mornings/night and how badly the works may spoil the enjoyment of lazing by the pool.

As the works are scheduled for completion by December I assume they've been a factor for some time so I'm hoping some of you guys from the US have been to the Residence Inn recently and can provide some guidance on my concerns ? :confused3

Need to know before I ask the travel agent to look at other hotels.

Thanks

Garry

When we went down in February there was construction going on right next to our hotel.A huge lot with alot of heavy duty equipment.I mean it was a hop, skip, and jump away...
We did not hear anything the 3 days we were there...but everyday we left the hotel the construction was in full swing.
I really don't think you need to worry. You could phone the hotel and ask if you will be able to hear any construction noise in the early am or late pm.
Maybe that would help alleviate your fears.

just around the corner from Sea World,

the construction noise is NOT bad. My dh, 2dd's & I were on site @ Horizons by Marriott (timeshare) where the construction was going on for 2 weeks in March 05. We have been onsite before when work was ongoing & weren't disturbed by the noise.

We heard some truck noise but very little other noise. Most of the construction is closer to Horizons guests than to you. There is 1 steel bldg going up for the main/eng dept along w/ housekeeping which is next to the fence line for RI.

I wouldn't be too concerned!

Judy

PS: IF you have ones who are interested in trucks, they WILL be thrilled. My dd's wanted to "check out the new pool & see the trucks".

Thanks guys.

Don't want to blow this out of proportion and it looks like I'll just leave the reservations alone. Think I'll take your tip Debbie and call the hotel to ask about the noise.
