<font color=navy>I took a look around the hotel, and took some pictures. This hotel is about a half mile away from the Disneyland Resort on Clementine, and shouldn't be confused with the Residence Inn by Marriott Resort Area, located on Harbor.

The hotel is comprised of several two-story buildings, and is landscaped nicely. The front has a circular driveway, and it has its own complimentary shuttle to take you to the Disneyland Resort.

There is a grassy area behind the main building, where people can relax or have a barbecue. The lady in this picture was just commenting on how peaceful and nice it was with no one around .. then she saw me approaching. :o Actually, she told me that after a day at the parks and crowds it was nice to come back to this hotel.

This is one of the buildings. Suites are upstairs, and single rooms are downstairs.

I got to take a quick look-a-round at one of the single rooms. It was really nice with a queen size bed, sofa, etc. I thought it was attractive, and inviting.

The bathroom - has closets on either side of the little hall leading to it, and the sink is separate from the tub and toilet.

Each room also has a little kitchen with a fridge, microwave, regular stove, and dishwasher.

There is a little court where guests can play basketball, volleyball or tennis.

The pool area has a jacuzzi and a little wading pool for the kidlets.

The Residence Inn offers cooked to order breakfast, and I saw where they set out the buffet, and took some pics of the dining area and outdoor dining patio.

This hotel also has a little gift shop and laundry facility.

I was impressed by the cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, and attractiveness of the grounds and rooms.

MaryJo I stayed there in July and it was great. The shuttle was quite prompt but I actually enjoyed th walk to and from the park.
Just curious You pointed out it is not the one on Harbor is there something wrong with that one It says it is brand new. We are going out for business an that s the hotel we are suposed to stay at. Please warn me if it is not a nice place.

We have stayed at both - the one on Clementine was quite a while ago though. We had some problems with the condition of the room. Looks like they may have updated since then.

The one on Harbor was nice - though the same 2 bedroom suite was smaller there.
Our biggest complaint was the parking situation. Lots of compact only spots and not enough parking if the hotel is busy. They do have an agreement for overflow parking - but not much fun if you pull in late & have to walk back to the hotel.
Breakfast was pretty crowded as well - but the hotel was at maximum occupancy when we were there.

Rooms were clean and comfortable - everything still nice as it is pretty new.

<font color=navy>There is nothing wrong with the one on Harbor that I know of. It's just that they are both called Residence Inn by Marriott, but the one on Harbor also has "Resort Area" to distinguish it from the one on Clementine. It's probably called Resort Area because of the various hotels right in that area. I haven't been there, but I haven't heard anything bad about it either. :)

wow great pictures. thanks for taking the time to give us an inside view of this hotel.

Thanks Cats mom and Mary JO I guess I'll have to report back when we get back.

dis4me - that would be wonderful! I'd like to get everyone's perspective on the different hotels so we can help each other out. :)

Thank you so much for the photos. I have been trying to get as much info about this hotel as we are staying there in June. Now I am not nervous anymore after seeing your photos. The pool looks a little small (I swim daily laps and my daughter is on a swim team), but that's OK. I think we will save lots of money having a stove and fridge in the room. Do you really recommend walking to the park - is it that close?:::yes::

It was about a 10 minute walk with little ones. I thought it was a refreshing way to wind down. The main street to get there has nothing on it but one other hotel but once you get to the DL crossstreet you will be where all the restaraunt/hotels are.

Sounds like they have corrected something we found to be an issue when we stayed at the Residence Inn in August 2002. The shuttle service at that time was awful, especially in the morning. They would only run one of their shuttles at a time. It was very disappointing when it took 3 return trips to get everyone to Disneyland the first day. The second day we walked and that (along with the August heat) wiped out my DD9. It was probably the only time I was grateful to be heading home from Disneyland. Sad!

OTOH, the grounds were very clean and the room quite nice. We had a room in the middle of the complex, so it was very quiet. I especially liked the full-size refrigerator, a welcomed change to the baby fridges at most places. This worked well for freezing drinking water bottles SOLID!

When we there there they had a shuttle and an overflow shuttle so the wit was never more that 5-7 minutes.
Iagreeabout the frig.

I am planning to go to the NFFC Disneyana Convention in July and am going alone. Looking forward to see DL.

The convention will be @ the Crown Resort Plaza and I am not sure I want to stay @ the Convention hotel.

When I was working I became used to Marriott's RI's and enjoy the comp breakfasts.

Would you suggest I stay @ the RI's or maybe another hotel....closer to the park?? Is it safe to walk @ night...alone??

I would appreciate any help!!

Thanks and have a Disney Day !!!!!!

We are staying here next weekend. I could not see the photos for some reason, but was glad for the review. Do they have there own complimentary shuttle or is it the one you have to pay for that goes to other hotels as well?

Any info appreciated!

Thanks, Lisa

Lisa,

I had a wonderful trip in July 04.

The Marriott RI had its own free shuttle and I had NO problems with the wait time. It seemed every 20 min a shuttle was available.

Have a great time !!

I stayed at that Residence Inn when we went in Sept. It was nice but I prefer the newer Residence Inns that are all in one building with elevators. Makes it easier to get your luggage into your room instead of lugging it up steps.

Rooms were clean, management was nice so would stay there again. We had to cut our visit short at the RI because of the hurricane brewing back here in FL and they were very understanding at the front desk.

I am staying there in June...it will be a second time..stayed there in 1991...for some reason I could not see the pics either...anyone know why?
