Reserving some FP for entire family and some half and half

I did this last year, but it was tough at first, and then I figured it out. I'm afraid to waste valuable time figuring it out again this year.

My Fastpass 60 days opens in a few hours (or tomorrow morning??). For a given day, maybe all 4 of us want Space Mountain and 7DMT, but then 2 of us want Peter Pan's Flight and 2 want Haunted Mansion (as an example).

I THINK I book SM and 7DMT for all 4 of us. Get confirmation. Then book 2 people for Peter Pan. Get confirmation. Then the other 2 for Haunted Mansion. Yes? And actually, maybe I should book the 4 people for the two rides first, then go to other days, book the "hot rides" THEN go back to day 1 for the split?

And I feel like I've read I'll be let in at midnight AND I've read it will be 6am tomorrow morning. is there a consensus? Because if I stay up past midnight, I'll be toast at 6am.

Helpful hints? I want to get this right for my kids.

When your window opens at 12:00 midnight, choose 3 rides for each park day and book them for all 4 people. After you confirm your FPs for that park day, then go back in and Modify to split up your group.

You can easily Modify using the app.

Do not do it haphazardly by attempting to split first.
