Reserving room at CS in Paradise Island

I was looking into reserving a room at Comfort Suites in Paradise Island for the day - for anyone who has done this - can you get wristbands in the morning - or do you have to wait until the check-in time of 3:00?

Thanks

We checked in to the CS around 10:00 am and got vouchers. We then walked over to Atlantis, turned in our vouchers, and got our wristbands right away. We never went back to CS to check-out (we checked on this while we were there in the morning and they said it was OK). They just billed our Visa and sent us the receipt in the mail a couple of weeks later.

Can you tell me what the price difference between a day room at Comfort Suites and Atlantis for your trip? How far is Comfort Suites from Atlantis (i.e., across the street, 10 minutes walk, etc..)?

Now that I found out our cruise will also stop at Freeport instead of being a day at sea, thought we would get off and hang out at Atlantis then spend the day on the ship when we dock at Freeport.

Thanks for any info!

By the maps I have seen, the Comfort is maybe slightly caddy-corner across the street from the Atlantis. If you look at, or print out the map of Atlantis at atlantis.com the Comfort Suites is located in that kind of Y shaped bend in the road at the very top left where that Atlantis sea-creature symbol is shown. I know that there is some type of walkway to cut through. It does appear to be a short walk, but maybe not a full 10 minutes? And, everyone seems to say, 'remember, Atlantis is a BIG place'. Once checked in there, it can be quite a walk to get to some the different areas. It looks like the Mayan Slides and Cove Beach seem to be quite a hike, furthest from the Comfort Suites.

Several have reported that the DayRate now starts at $200.00. A reservation can be made for less by getting the internet rate directly from the Choice hotels web site. Right now that is listed at $175.50, plus taxes and fees of course!

Please forgive my ignorance, but which cruise are you taking that takes you to Paradise Island? My 2 DD's saw a movie with the Atlantis Resort in it and they would love to go!
Thanks.

house of princesses,

the three day and four day Bahamas cruises go to Nassau , which is where Atlantis is. you do have to get to Paradise Island by cab or boat though.

I've stayed at the Atlantis Resort twice (once in royal towers; once in coral towers) and once at Comfort Suites. Depending upon which tower you get a day room (royal, coral or beach) you would be closer to most of the slides if you get a day room at Comfort Suites rather than a day room in the Beach Towers. It takes about ten minutes to walk from Comfort to the slides. Just be prepared - it's a looong walk to anything at the Atlantis. A beautiful resort - definitely worth seeing. Enjoy.

I should have asked this initially - for those who have reserved a room - do you think it is worth an extra $80 to have access to the water park? If you just go and visit - it would be $90 for 2 Adults 2 kids - and that just gets you into the resort and the Dig, not the pool/slides, correct?

I'm thinking it would probably be nice to get off the boat and relax - but just wondering what others' opinions are...

Thanks

House of princesses,

There is only the channel separating Nassau and Paradise Island. You can actually see Atlantis from the ship while at Nassau! It is just a short cab ride.

PRaffen,

Sounds like you are are a real Atlantis expert!!! I am interested in hearing a little about the Ripples kids pool area, close to the slides, and also Cove Beach, for DS(5). Not a lot of details about these areas on the atlantis web site!

How old are your kids? My daughter was ten when we went and she would not do most of the slides. If your kids are willing to try things and like the faster slides, I think you'd get your money's worth. But if they are younger, no it wouldn't be worth it.

I LOVE the Atlantis. The ripples kids pool area is great for kids under 5. When we were there (always Easter week) Atlantis provided floats and toys, beach chairs did go early - parents were there at 6 AM "reserving" them. There is a fountain in the pool to spray the kids. There is also a small slide next to it that would be a perfect size for your son. He is too small for the other slides (by the royal tower).

There is a great lazy river ride by the Coral Towers pool that is very relaxing. This pool has "waterfalls" at the end which if you go through you can look in to the aquarium and see a variety of fish.

Cove beach and all the beaches surrounding Atlantis are very nice. Chairs and drink service are available on all beaches.
