I'm a new owner at BCV and am planning a June, 08 trip (end of June). I would like one of the "dedicated 2 bedrooms" with 2 queen size beds in the second bedroom. I know I can reserve 11 months out since I own at BCV. Would you recommend that I reserve day by day or will I have no problem reserving a "dedicated 2 BR", if I wait to reserve the whole trip at once?

Thanks.

I am a new owner at VWL which is also a smaller DVC property. I will tell you what people told me when I posed a similar question. You will probably get what you want if you wait and reserve all at once but why take the chance?

Doing a day by day reservation isn't too hard. It takes the longest on the first day and then you just let them know that you are adding another day to your day by day reservation each day after that.

Welcome home!

FWIW, the 2 bedroom units at the BCV with two queens in the second bedroom are very popular and the first to book. If it's important to you to have one of them, take advantage of your ownership and call day by day. The few extra minutes it takes are worth it - why take the chance of having to use the waitlist when you don't have to?

Good luck!

We reserved BCV for a after Thanksgiving trip. Dedicated 2-BR. I called a week after our 11th month mark. We are wait listed for 1 day in the middle of the week. :confused3

So far DVC is not quite what we expected. :sad2:

Looks like day at a time is the way to go.

Day at a time is really only necessary for a few specific unit types and specific times of the year (depending on the resort).

You ran into both - the 2 queen bed in the second bedroom units at the BCV and the time between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day (for VWL, BCV & BWV).

You would not have had to waitlist at 10 months, 3 weeks if you were willing to take any type of 2 bedroom unit or wanted a studio or 1 bedroom unit at BCV.

The good news is that you own at the BCV and now know to call day by day for a dedicated two bedroomunit with 2 queens in the 2nd bedroom.

Carol... Just make it easier for us newbies. Post a cheat sheet of when we need to make reservations. :rotfl:

Yes, I would like a 2 br dedicated villa so I guess I'll call day by day to make this reservation. This is my first DVC pts reservation so we'll see how it goes. Thanks Carol.

Dedicated 2BR (1 queen, 1 sofabed in 2nd BR), and Dedicated 2BR with 2 Queen beds in 2nd BR are not exactly the same units at BCV... the latter are tougher to get.
