Reserve now or wait?

We are considering a trip the week after thanksgiving 2010. I've been playing with different options on Disney's website. Do you think I'd be more likely to get a PIN code if I wait a while before making the reservation? Or should I reserve now to make sure we can get the rooms I want (3 standard in Pop)?

I would reserve now. I got a pin 2 months after I booked my package, so you can definitely still get one!

If you plan on going regardless of whether you get a deal or not I would reserve now. Hoping for a PIN is a real hit and miss.

We are going for Thanksgiving and are hoping for a pin or some sort of discount. We always go ahead and book if we know for sure we are going. Then if we get a pin later or a new discount comes out we just rebook. There have been several times that we have gotten a pin after we booked or a new discount has come out and we changed our ressie.

For the first time, we finally received a pin code. We received it after we had already booked our trip. I just called and kept everything the same, they just applied the discount and we didn't have to pay as much.
I would definitely book now to ensure you will have the resort that you want. You could wait around forever and never get a pin code. However, if you happen to get one after you've booked and already have the peace of mind knowing you have the resort you want, you can always apply the pin code or even upgrade to a better resort if the pin code is a better deal than what you paid before.

Interesting question. You can definitely still get a pin code if you've already booked though no one knows if it increases or decreases your chances. Plus I think Disney knows what we're doing as the accounts seem to be connected by name and date of birth. My mom had already booked when I got a pin to an account that had my parents' address on it and when she called to apply the pin, the CM already had the pin associated with the reservation she had made.
