My husband, myself and my 2 year old will be in Disney Jan. 9-15 and would like to go to Whispering Canyon, and Rose and Crown for fireworks. DO we need reservations this time of year or is it pretty slow in Jan? :earsboy:

Thanks

I would definately get reservations, you don't know how long the wait could be at that time. Plus you don't have to wait if its busy, you get right in.
I'd make one just in case because those are popular restaurants.

I would as well also. If you know you're going to eat there, it will definitely cut down on your wait time.

If you definatley want to go then you should make reservations. You can always cancel them but it's hard to get in at the last moment sometimes.

And the Rose and Crown is SOOOO popular for Fireworks - I would definitely have a PS for that, even if you decide to wing it for WCC.

We are also going in January and are not bothering with the ressies...my parents go every year this time of year and say it's the slowest the parks get. I wouldnt worry about it.

As slow as January might be, with the Dining Plan many more people are eating at the sit-down restaurants. You are always better off with a reservation. You can cancel or change them as needed once you get there.

Casper's mom,

Obtaining an ADR for Rose & Crown will not gurantee you will see the fireworks from your table. Only a select few tables out on the patio will enable you to view Illuminations from your seat. I would recommend getting an ADR for about an hour and fifteen to an hour and a half before the start of Illuminations. You cannot request an outside table as part of your ADR, however, when you check in at the desk, you can ask to be seated outside for a fireworks view. You can even tell them you would be willling to wait for a table if neccessary. However, there is no gurantee that you will get such a table. The reason I am telling you this is that I dont' want you to have unreasonable expectations about what is possible. You are going during an "off" time, so your chances are better, but nothing is guranteed.

Even if you cant get an outside table, they do have a wonderful viewing area for patrons of the restuarant. You can go outside and view the show from the VIP area, and then go back to your table and finish your meal.
