We are travelling with a group of 8 in April/2012. Is it hard to make reservations for WDW restaurants for this many people?

Not if you make them AS soon as the reservations open up for that time period. Good luck.

plan in advance you shouldn't have any problem. Many WDW restaurants fill up early which makes it harder to fit in a party of eight. Plan early, book early and you should be okay.

You will likely see a note, or be told, that your party may be seated at separate tables. This is a standard disclaimer. Disney will work hard to get you close together.

Or you could book all of your meals at Biergarten. Their communal tables mostly seat eight.

I've even gone with 12 and had no problem. But, I made my reservations 180 days in advance. We did have to split up at 1900 Park Fare and Crystal Palace but we were still close enough to take pictures of each other.

We are a party of seven for our upcoming trip, and I didn't have much trouble getting reservations 3 months out (we decided late in the game to do a second Disney trip this year!). I don't think it would be difficult at all if you make your reservations as soon as you get to the 180 days mark. Good luck!
