How far in advance can you make them for campsites? I got online tonight and you can only book up until the end of the year. I am looking at going in May, can I call and get reservations for that time?

Yes, 500 days is the "rule", but unfortunately, there's always an exception to the rule, and FW seems to be it! You can book tent sites 500 days out right now, but full hookup, Preferred, and Premium sites are only available through mid-October 2009 currently.

For FW you should call inadvance for a campsite, don't wait for the online thing. They probably won't down load 2009 on there til November. Call 407-w-disney to book your May reservation. You should be to book all the way through the week of Thanksgiving 2009 if sites are still available.

Actually Rhonda, I currently have a preferred site booked from 11/09-11/28. So, you can if sites are still available book up til the 28th of November 2009. But, I have been calling everyday for the past three days, three times a day waiting for the 29th to open up though. So, November 28th is the last date so far.

I reserved my May o9 campsite in January for a full hookup(w,e,sewer) site. I then called back to modify the reservation last month and was told that all that was available for my time frame were preferred or premium sites at an added cost of course. Now I sit and wait for AAA rates to come out.

We booked our preferred site for May a couple of months ago. You can book the site now, but you can't book a package because they haven't released prices, yet. You'll have to call back toward the end of this year/first of next year to transfer your reservations to a package. :)

I called today, 499 days in advance for Dec. 4, 2009 for one day, then I'd keep calling to add days. NOTHING AVAILABLE!!!
How could this be??? What is the secret?

For some strange reason they are not opening the sites because of the renovations, I talked to a supervisor and she said in 30 days. I would just keep calling so you'll get them as soon as they open.

Since I could not get the Dec. 4, 2009 date I wanted, I tried again going backwards and the only thing they could offer me was a tent site for Nov. 15! How could this be possible? They say the dates have not yet been released but then I read on this site that you're booked until 11/28.

Yeah, I feel your pain. Trust me, I have been trying to add Nov. 28th to my existing reservation for a week now. I couldn't get the premium site I wanted so I had to take a preferred site to get the week of Thanksgiving. I also had to have the reservationist book whatever she had available which was starting on 11/11/09 and then I just kept calling and adding to my reservation day by day. One day I lucked out and was able to add two days at one time! That felt sooo good and must be what it feels like to book a hotel room in 2009. LOL!

Anyway, you really have to get a CM that's willing to work the system. That means checking everyday that you need and or starting with what is available and then booking as many days as they can for you. Then you have call long distance everyday till you get what you need. I swear it's as bad as trying to win a radio contest and I have sent an email complaining. If I am spending as much money as anyone staying at a Value resort I should be able to book my campsite at the same time as the value resorts -499 days out!

Anyway, if it makes you feel any better I don't believe they are offering any campsite from the November 27th,2009 on right now. I say this because I have called two to three times a day to add that last night on to my current reservation and I have always been told it's not available. Unfortunatly, the only thing you can do is keep calling, but at least it won't be a holiday week like I am trying to finsih getting, so you should have a better chance at getting what you want.

All this confusion on making ressies especially during this FW renovation period is why I went with Rhonda to handle our Dec 2009/Jan 2010 ressies.

Yes, we took the advice and contacted Rhonda. I hope she can help us.

We are going the week of Thanksgiving this year, including 39 of our close family and friends for a reunion. But, it is not our preferred time since we usually like the week after Thanksgiving. That's what we would like to do next year. I have to say it was like pulling teeth last year when I tried to get our current reservations. The rest of the family are staying at all different resorts and didn't have a problem. In fact there are still cabins available for Thanksgiving week. I think I started last year with three different reservations and slowly kept modifying it until we got exactly what we wanted. But it is stressful.

I'm hoping Rhonda can do it for us.

Thanks for all the helpful adfvice.
