reservations needed for DTD

Our flight got changed and now we are arriving earlier. Will we be able to get a place to eat in DTD without reservations. I'm not sure how long the whole check-in process will take , so hate to make a ressie. I realize that some restaurants are busier than others. If we could walk up and get our name and then shop awhile, that would be great , or this a bad plan. ( we will be there late nov and early dec)Thanks!!!

It really depends on when you get there and where you want to eat. The great thing about DTD is there are so many options that you're pretty much guaranteed to find something. If you're looking to eat at say-Rainforest Cafe' if you get there any time after 6:30 look for at least a 30-40 minute wait and that wait will icrease to a couple of hours after 7. There are several great counter service like Wolfgang Puck Express and Earl of Sandwich where you will have a relatively low wait to get food. Just know if you want a table service you'll have a wait any time after 7 but there are so many places to shop and pass the time you should have no problem.

I would think you could also head over to the West Side or Pleasure Island. Because of their location those restaurants tend to get more locals on the weekends. Might want to give Raglan Road Bongos a try.

We were there on a Friday night in mid-August and were easily able to get seating at restaurants on the West Side with little to no wait.

(we were seated immediately at Bongos, but ended up leaving without eating and moved next door to WP Cafe where we waited 5 minutes. House of Blues had immediate seatig but the menu didn't appeal to us)

I think you'll be fine. Even if you get in a bind, there are several great counter service spots.

On November 1 we had a 6:45 reservation at Cap'n Jacks. They were pretty much turning everyone away without a reservation (actually they indicated the wait was something like 1 hour and 15 minutes). Since we had a reservation, we were seated right away.

You don't say what day of the week you're arriving - if it's a Friday or Saturday night, I'd definitely make reservations somewhere. Actually, I'd recommend that you make a reservation, regardless of what day you arrive. Better to have one and not need it, than not to make one and wish you had (make sense?).

Or, as you mentioned, it might take a while to arrive at the hotel and check in, then to go DTD. If it were me, I'd plan to go to either Wolfgang Puck Express or Earl of Sandwich. Both have great CS food and you don't need a reservation. That way, you won't be stressed about trying to make your reservation on time.

We went to Capatain Jacks last week on a Thursday night without reservations. We got there around 5 p.m. and were seated right away. I called all week to get into the restaurant and was told nothing was available.
So I think if you get there early enough it won't be a problem. When we were leaving around an hour later it was mobbed! We try to eat early before the "standard" dinner rush!
