Reservations for larger groups

Do you need to break up a larger party to get reservations? I have been having a hard time finding anything with a group of 7. 6 wasn't so bad but 7 is much more difficult.

i say keep trying both ways, but note if you make 2 separate reservations there's no guarantee you'll get to sit together as when the tables open and become available they'll want to sit you.

I don't think it matters if you break them up. I've booked large groups in the past (15 people) for Hoop Dee Doo Revue, La Hacienda De San Angel, Liberty Tree Tavern, and others, without a problem. With larger groups it really helps to make reservations as soon as possible for maximum availability.

Each restaurant manages how to accomodate groups that don't fit at one table.

Someone might come along and tell me that this is wrong, and it may be, but I'm remembering reading on here that you should try making a reservation for 8. For some reason in the system it's easier to try an even number because of how the tables are.

as another poster said try for a ressie for 8. you will not be charged if only 7 show up

Have reservations for 8 at a lot of places, but made them right around the 180 day window. Not much availability for changes.

We did a party of 9 for May without any trouble at our 180. I think it depends on which places you are booking. Some of them can't accommodate large parties online, but if you call you can book it.

For the most part I don't have trouble booking for a larger party, but you do have to do it early. If you are getting closer to your trip I doubt anything will open up. I agree with the previous suggestion to book for 8 instead of 7, I am not sure why this should matter, but apparently it does.

1) Maybe.
2) The more popular the eatery (like Ohana), the fewer tables available for larger parties.
3) Don't worry about splitting up
. . . it is just a meal
. . . not eating a meal together won't ruin a vacation
. . . you can all kibitz about it later

I booked dining reservations online at the 180 days as soon as it opened. We had a party of 10 so i split us up however i could to get in and then called Disney when phones opened and the CM helped me put us together. Online seems be limited in seating options.
