We're goning to be at WDW the last week of January '12. I have searched for times for reservations for Kona for every day between 2p.m. and 6p.m. with no luck. Has anyone else been able to book reservations for Kona?

We never make reservations for there.
We go to the sushi bar area that is attached to it.
It is walk up/first come first serve so if you get there early evening it's not a problem at all. Just go over and sit down.
They don't even accept reservations for that area of seating.

The sushi is great (Chef Andres knows us now).
But you do'nt have to order any sushi over there. You can choose from the regular Kona menu.
If you have the dining plan, it works there too.
You do have to ask for the pineapple bread with macadamia nut butter when you sit there though. They don't automatically bring it when you sit there.

If you don't get a reservation, either do this or don't sweat it and eat somewhere else.
I have only found a very select few items on the menu to be any good (the pork chop, the sticky wings for 2 app., and the sushi). I also find the service to be rather rude and slow by disney standards..

other tips there....if you have the dining plan the virgin strawberry daquiri and the virgin colada are included as drinks.
Also, you can always ask for the bread pudding dessert from ohana and they will usually go get it for you. I had it once though and it was not good. it was more like french toast with bits of scrambled egg all around it cause the custard cooked into chunks...terrible. But since everyone is always fussing about it, i wanted to let you know that you can try it.

Technically although your window is 4 hours, they are only open for 2 of them. Lunch stops being seated at 3 and then they reopen at 5. You shouldn't have a problem being seated at between 2 and 3.

Thanks for the replies. We will be a party of possibly up to 11. I guess I didn't check the lunch and dinner times closely. I was looking for a reservation around 4p.m. and the online reservations searched for 2 to 6p.m.
Not sure what we'll do .....

Thanks again for your responses.
