I'll be calling soon to make reservations for an extended family trip to Disney in June2016. It is my family and four other family groups with lots of kids in the mix. Do I need all the kids birthdays or just their ages when making the reservation. I plan on getting two - 2BR at Kidani for the group. I assume I'll need to know who is staying in which room when I call? Thanks for walking me through this.

Oh - one more question, when the families start to set up their MDE accounts - I guess they'll each put in our room reservation numbers to get their. Does that work out okay that different MDE accounts for each family will share reservation numbers? I've done family trips before - but before MDE and fast pass plus.

You just need to know if they are 10 or under. You will need the address including zip code for the adults. You don't have to know who is staying in each room initially, that information can be changed later. I changed room assignments using the chat feature online.

Not sure about MDE.

if your using points and you have enough for both 2 bedrooms why not just go online at 8 am and book 1 at a time. That way you can just use your name only for both ressies. Later at 9 am you can call and add the names for each room.

Multiple MDE accounts are not an issue as long as the accounts are setup and linked to the MDE accounts of the other familes first.

I'm a big believer that each family unit should have their own MDE account and manage their own family members (spouse & children) profiles. It's pretty easy to connect to another families MDE account.

First you would add the primary MDE account holder to your Family & Friends list and request to connect with them by entering the email they used to create the account.

Once the request for the primary has been accepted, both should then go to their Family & Friends list and click 'Add a Guest'. This will present you with a list of 'people you may know' and that will include the manage profiles of your connected friends. You can then select the other persons managed profiles (spouse & children) and a request will be sent to the person that manages those profiles to approve the friends request.

Once all families are linked in the Family & Friends list, only one person needs to link the room reservation and it will appear in all of the appropriate MDE accounts based on the names listed on the reservation (matched to the Family & Friends list of the person that links it to MDE).

Any of the primary MDE account holders will be able to make FP+ selections for any person in their Family & Friends list that has valid park admission linked to their profile.

When I make reservations on-line I only list myself so that I'm not typing in a bunch of stuff and missing the unit type I want. Then I send an email to member services through the DVC Member webpage with all of the names. That works fine.

I used this strategy when I made a reservation for a 3-bedroom grand villa at VGC at 11 months. There are only two of these units and after I made my reservation there was no availability for our dates. I got the only one that was free for our dates.

You could just as easily set up the second reservation in the name one of the adults from the other family too. And then call MS or email them the details of who is actually on each reservation. I would do separate emails, one for each reservation.
