Reservations: Can we do this?

If you and another party have individual contracts, can you combine your points to make a single reservation?

For example, if we want to get a grand villa and share the expense, can 1 party pay with points the first 2 nights and another party pay with points for two different nights? Can you connect these reservations so that you do not have to switch rooms--in effect sharing expenses for the larger room?

Thanks to all experienced DVCers.

Yes, you can do that. Two reservations can be linked by MS so that they know you want to stay in the same room the whole time (we do this linking DVC reservations to cash reservations all the time -- never a problem).

Another thing you could do is have one member transfer the needed points to the other member's account. Then all the points would be together and they'd all be on one reservation.

yes - can your phone system do a 3-way call - then you can both talk to the MS at the same time - less confusing that way - when the CM makes the reservation she/he will go ahead and link them together.

Of course the CM may have trouble finding 4 nights together (unless it is at the 11 month time) - so again if you are both on the phone line together - less confusion.
