Has anyone had any luck contacting the HI in DTD? I have had no luck, voice mail, email no response. Anyone reschedule a reservation from 2005?

There was a recent post (last week I htink) stating that they had driven by the HI and saw it was sitll under construction. Maybe someone else has more info.

herc.

Tried to call and email but no reply...I want to check on my reservations for October to see what I can plan on... :confused3

If you get any reply, let me know.

Just subscribing. I have reservations for November and I am getting nervous!!

We're staying next door at royal plaza. The ground floor around the soon-to-be pool area is still boarded up on one side. A couple of days ago there were about 30 people gathered for some sort of meeting and since then there have only been a few builders who seem to spend all day moving stuff around the site. There's certainly not much going on and last time i chatted thru the holiday inn website with an agent he said they were still not taking bookings.

Certainly the exterior facing us looks finished, but who knows what's going on inside. Hopefully it'll be sorted soon. Good luck :wizard:

I did mention in another post that while we stayed at the Royal Plaza in late May, nothing was happening. One of the employees said they had heard the Holiday Inn might be sold to another hotel in the area. That is not an absolute, just a comment.
I would probably call the 1 800 number and explain your circumstances. Hopefully the corporate offices can help you out.

I just called the National HI line and they said in their system it shows a tentative opening date of Nov 15. They don't have the inventory to book yet, but would expect to have it by a month prior. The hotel itself may take reservations directly beyone the one month in advance. Maybe it's coming around; I hope.

I do not believe that reservations that I had made back in 2005 will be honored in the future. The people that were working at the Holiday Inn at that time are no longer there. Any email I have sent has not been returned.

FYI - I just "chatted live" w/an agent for Holiday Inn who said that it is scheduled to open Nov. 15. I can book my reservations for next year online. HTH.

We drove by early last week and it looked like they were working on the lower roof. The pool area is still a mess. It definitely does not seem as though they are in too much of a hurry to finish.

My November reservations are being honored over at the Sheraton Safari. I was able to work with Barbara Anderson, who is the reservations manager at the Sheraton. Her e-mail address is Barbara.Anderson@ihrco.com. I did have to e-mail and fax her all of my previous reservation confirmations, but she was most helpful. My faith has truly been restored in this matter :thumbsup2

Thanks for the update...very nice of you... :thumbsup2
Very glad to help. I was on pins and needles wondering if they were going to honor the rate and it did take a while to get a commitment, but once I did, I had to share. I definitely would not want anyone else to be left out in the cold.

I think if you rebooked your dates your OK. Myself I did not rebook because HI said we could use it between 5/1/06 and the end of the year. I was leaving it open since I didn't know the dates we would like to travel. I have all the confirmations and emails, but since I didn't rebook the Sheratin has no record on file. Just a FYI for anyone else who may have done the same.
