This thread is related to my recent reservation experience for BWV standard view, my waitlist experience and observations on walking as it applies to my reservations. I started a reservation process a few days after the 11 month window opened with the goal of two 2BR and two studios all BWV standard view for a full week in Dec. I actually started out reserving three 2 BR but changed over to the 2 studios a few days later I was able to get a couple of nights the the middle of each week for each reservation at the onset but then had to fill in a day or 2 at a time as we went along. A couple of nights at the end I was able to reserve at 8 am when the reservation window opened for those dates. I got the days in the beginning one day at a time at 8 days out in the morning between 9:10 & 9:45 c/w days that would have been dropped with walking. I got 3 nights in the middle off the wait list directly that I never saw online and 4 nights (I believe) online that I had a waitlist pending for that hadn't matched. MS combined all reservation into full weeks, 3 at my request and the last on their own. So my thoughts are that difficult to get reservations can often be had with effort and the wait list used well, that the WL is better than before but not perfect in that some nights still are online that should have gone to the wait list and that Walking played a considerable part in both the way the nights became available and initial availability.

Thanks for the info. Nice to read that the waitlist process is improving.

Can walking a reservation possibly avoid the need of doing a wait list?

In some cases it should help avoid doing a wait list. In my case I missed day one 11 months out for unavoidable reasons. Picking up one day at a time on the back end when it was obvious people were walking was interesting.
