Reservation times, does it matter

I always wondered if there is any benefit of getting the last reservation time before they switch over to the next meal. i.e. Lunch at CRT is from 11:30 - 2:50 and was thinking of reserving the 2:45 time. Years ago we had the last breakfast reservation at CP and it just seemed a little less hectic then the couple times before when we had times in the middle. Just curious

CRT seats people all day long. They don't take breaks any more.

It's of less benefit somewhere like CRT than it is at a buffet where the offerings switch over between breakfast and lunch.
