Hi all. Need your expert opinions.

We arrive on the evening of 8/18. My plan was to get to the parks early the next day and then end with Fantasmic that night. I'm thinking of making breakfast reservations for Wednesday morning, but I know i will probably be trying to grab fastpasses just about every day I'm there for RSR. Getting up early isn't a problem but getting fastpasses worries me.

What time woukd you recommend for a reservation? Thanks!

depends on opening time for the park and if u can get up early. Are u staying on property?

We had a reservation the first week of June on a Sunday around 7:10am and we loved that time. We practically had the place to ourselves. There were only 3 other families and my son got to hang out with Mickey and all the other characters most of the time. He was dancing with them all by himself. He loved how much attention he got from all of them. There was mickey, minnie, stitch, pluto, and daisy.

We were there the first week in June and had a 7:30 breakfast reservation. It was great. There were just a couple of other families there when we were seated. My son fell in LOVE with Stitch. Stitch came to see him 5 or 6 times and they had amazing interactions. It was worth the price of breakfast just for that! We saw Mickey up front and then were visited by Pluto, Minnie, Daisy, and the aforementioned Stitch multiple times.

I am really thinking that REALLY early is the way to go.

BTW, we're staying at Hojo's. I figured we'd use our EE for Thursday...

Coming from PA (according to your location) will make an early morning really easy, so I would definitely do the earliest breakfast possible.

I do have to say, though, that starting that early AND ending with a late night on that first day might be a bit much. The timezone change works for you in the morning, but by the end of the evening it's going to get tougher.

If it's only adults on the trip, I HIGHLY recommend looking at using Single Rider for RSR.

(if you had been there before, or if I knew your travel party, I would mention using it even with younger people in the group, but kids have to be of a certain age and everyone has to be brave enough, since each person will be called singly to get on the ride, separately from each other, and that can be daunting for kids even of the right age, and especially for parents)

I thought I'd also mention the other option: pick up your RSR FP right at park open and then go to Surf's Up. We had a 10:30 am res on our last day (before driving home) and you could even do a 9 am if the park opens at 8 am as I'm sure you can get a FP by 8:30 at the latest and get to PPH by 9. The 10:30 time wasn't ideal, as we missed the last "dance party" as I didn't realize it was the last one and my kids were eating at 10:40. But then around 11 am it was so empty and we got all the characters making more than 1 visit to our table. The other drawback is that food wasn't being replenished after 10:30 am. I got the last 5 slices of smoked salmon at 10:30 and they never refilled it.

HTH!

With luck, getting there early shouldn't matter as much, as RSR is now connected. The reports are that the FPs are lasting much later now.
